Debadged and Dash Kit Installed

Well it was really nice here today. So nice i slept till 3pm and skipped all my classes. My friend and i attempted take 2 of debadging. No luck at first but we eventually got it off just to realize we were out of the stuff to get the adhesive residue off. But now all is good, and i'm very pleased with the look. Even tho it was quite a pain to take it off.

Dash kit is also installed. Lots of positive comments from people that have seen it. I got it off ebay for 90 bucks. Not bad and as everyone says, it looks stock. And that was the point. Plenty of pics, i'll take more tomorrow when its light out.

A few minor difficulites, and alignment issues. There is a bar you'll notice missing, it was recomended not to but that on. Any opinions? there are pics of both what it looks like with it and with out. Also the bottom piece where the shifter is will not fit. It fits around the shifter but it just misses on the hazards, so if you push the hazards down it doesn't quite work. So for now that is still off until i figure out a way to fix that.

But for now go to this site for all the pics:
PICS PICS PICS

Feel free to post comments, I've been pretty happy with it for now. Though i went thru a lot of debating to if i wanted it on at all. So i guess it'll grow on me, but i do enjoy the look. The minor imperfections i suppose are what haunts me and the "fun" it was to put on.

Mystery, that dash kit looks really good.

I would need that MOST for the part around my shifter, its all scratched up. Let me know if you find a way to replace that piece. What is the color/material called that you used?

Mine is not in the best shape either, thats why i really want that piece on. The color is brushed aluminum. As far as the debadging goes i was skeptical for a while, but i'm very happy at the result. Looks very clean. Now i'll just confuse people a lot more on what type of car it is. Oh and the spoiler is the g35 one. I got it off Spoiler Depot but i've seen it on ebay as well for slightly cheaper.

Mystery,

I noticed you dont have an oem spoiler on your SE. Did you take it off, or just get a Max without it?

Your new spoiler looks GREAT without the oem.

That kit is brushed aluminum? It looks like a semi-transparent plastic...like a petrolium jelly color.

Well, I don't like the 6th gen debadged at all. I did mine and the rear naked for a week and bought new emblems. I don't know what bothered me more, the fact that it just didn't look right or the fact that I just pulled the emblems off my first really nice car. I bought a maxima because of what it was. I don't want people guessing what it is plus the rear just looked funny.

The dash kit you put on.....I don't know about that either. 04BlackMaxx made a comment about it looking like petroleum jelly.....I just don't like it.

All in all though, it's your car. you have to like it. Props for doin some mods but not my taste

I think debadging looks great. The G35 spoiler looks nice too, although Im opting for the slightly spicier WRX spoiler. People seem to know its a Maxima, so we dont need logos to tell them. Also, its waaaaaaaaaaay easier to wash and wax.

I know what you mean about the debadging. I do plan on putting different emblems on it, i just haven't found the perfect look yet. Worse comes to worse i'll just get another set of emblems. Even my spoiler when first put on there was one angle i just didn't like, but its grown on me.

Don't worry about, i think for now i like the clean look. Now when my parents realize what i did. yeah that may be a different story. Even tho i pay for the car and what not and am the main driver, they never wanted me to do this. Oh well.

fair warning, your not going to be able to resue your old emblems unless you carefully cut double sided tape back onto them. If you go to buy new ones....look to spend about $40 or so.

Very true since most of my adhesive was still on the car after the emblems were off.

Alright finally uploaded some better pics. I have some comparisons on cardomain so check that out as well
First off debadged:

And now for the dash kit. It is hard to see that its brushed aluminum because of the glossy finish. But it looks great in person. Everyone i show it too doesn't notice, they think its stock. Which was exactly my goal.

Check this out for more pics and the comparisons

I have to say I like the look of debadging, but I dont have the guts to do it. Just because Im not quite sure about how it looks in person, and not being able to put them back sux too. You gotta leave the rear nissan emblem though, whether you have the lip or not, its gotta stay. Nothing at all looks like you're doing a commercial and supposed to have some generic car.

Because there is a fittment issue. When the piece is applied it does not fit around the hazards correctly, and it stops it from functioning correctly. In all honesty it doesn't look to bad with out, most people can't tell the difference. But i am working on fixing the problem.

Well parents didn't even notice. The more i see the dash kit the more i like it. It really goes well with the interior and no one notices its aftermarket. So i'm satisfied, and the cost wasn't that high either.

I attempted to put the shifter piece on, but it just doesn't seem to want to line up right. Tho i'm starting to like the look just how it is without that last piece. My stock shifter piece isn't to scratched up at all.

For those that have seen the pictures, do you think i should fill in the gap in the center? that small section where its still the stock piece?

This was the ebay auction i won. LINK

I just realized something, When i first saw pictures of the car debadged i didn't like it. But i think that was because i thought the back looked to plain. But the spoiler changed that.
