Any pics of some new stuff for our 6th gen? Good.....bad....ugly....right now, I could care less. Would like to see some new stuff. Is it just me or has the aftermarket shunned the 6th gen? Anyone else know where I am coming from?

I just bought some red caliper paint - Duplicolor brand. I also bought primer and will get some clear coat too. I found a website that has caliper decals and they sell Nissan decals. Here is the site:
http://www.xenonmods.com/newallcaliperdecals.htm

Scroll down to find the Nissan decals.

I found a body shop to paint and install my Stillen body kit and rear WRX spoiler. Should be done by next week some time. Looking forward to it.

please also tint KITT's lower eyeballs... so u went for red? well, if it doesn't fit in well, black paint is always available. glad to hear you found a shop. so what's the damage?

well, if my used parts ever get uninstalled so I can buy them, i'll upgrade my suspension. the 2 bars will go on asap. but i think i'll wait to install the struts/shocks, since I just got new fronts and have plenty of warranty left.

after this, i'll be quite poe for awhile. only future possibilites are grille if needed and wheels if I find the perfect ones and have $ to blow.

Dues, nice find with the caliper decals!! That was the push I needed to finally do mine...

Now, the question is... should I do RED or BLACK? Opinions wanted please....(and I will have the white Nissan decal)

Red, baby, red!!! Make people notice!!!

Here is how Im doing it. Im gonna sand the calipers to smooth em out a bit. Then Im gonna prime with high temp duplicolor primer. Then, Im going to apply brush on the red paint using a tiny sponge brush. Then I want to apply the NISSAN decal. Finally, Im going to clearcoat thewhole thing with Duplicolor high temp clearcoat. It will look great, I think. Im considering bronze lettering. Any thoughts?

Well Dues,

I got love for ya, but I think weve got some different tastes in this area. What im nervous about the red IS standing out too much. I like a more subtle look. In any case, I think those lettering decals make a BIG difference, much nicer.

Of course NICER would be having money for REAL brake kits and not being a poser, but for a simpler CHEAPER mod, I think it will look pretty cool.

Hey, I didnt see anything on that page about the decals adhesiveness. How do those decals stay on with the heat? Is it imperative you clear coat it?

yeah, already thought about it. but i have red calipers. need NISMO so... if you did black it would look great.

Jay, then I think black would look best for ya. anyone that looks for such details could appreciate it. and it leaves the attn of the eye to gander at other mods.

Not a bad idea except for:

1) I already ordered the Nissan
2) **** Nismo and there NON LOVE for the 6th gen. Ok, cant help it, that still pisses me off, but I understand it.....I guess...

Ooh, not a bad idea. That would look sick in black. Guess I could maybe get over my anger and do this maybe.....

Rear tails are simple once you do it the first time. Open the trunk, remove some plastic buttons and pull back the liner. You will see two 10mm nuts. Remove those and disconnect wire harness. Now the tricky part. You have to grab the light and jerk it out of there. Thats it. Why do you want to remove them? You gonna tint em?

Hey JayZ: Remember, the stock calipers aren't THAT big so they wont scream BIG GIANT RED BRAKES!! I saw a Jetta the other day with red stock brakes and they looked good. Here is a photoshop of what my brakes will look like paitned red with white lettering:

That looks great ! Looks like my next mod. I did mine in black last year. I'm happy with it but it's a very understated effect. I think that red will look great on a silver car too.

Anyone know how durable the caliper stickers are ?

I dunno, red always look great but since I never considered spraying on some lettering, maybe black with red letters would be the best for me.

My new goodies are listed on my rims thread. Othere than that I am painting my calipers high gloss black this weekend - no decals. I'll leave the lettering for real brembro's someday is they ever make them for our rides

I got a garage mod off Ebay delivered today. It's a giant dealership vinyl Maxima ad banner. Its got to be about 4 feet tall and 10 feet long. Its going to adorn the rear wall of the garage. Sad thing is its a red maxima on the banner so it won't match mine. I'll get pics once its up showin the Maxima luv in the garage.

I work for a billboard company, and we have some extra Maxima vinyls last time I looked.

Those suckers are 14' high and 48 feet wide though, too much for my garage!

Guess that would be a sweet "mod" though!
