Anyone make Double DIN dash kit?

you can always buy that metro dash kit (whatever's it called) and use an knife to make it a double din. Its plastic, and hollow, so all you need is an xact-o knife down the side.
Thats what I plan on eventually doing, even though I cant afford the radio yet!
just look at the link, you can see how easy it would be to make it a double din

You will not be able to keep the factory cd changer with an aftermarket radio. The cd changer and tape deck are one unit and can not be seperated. Also there will be no way to control the changer once the factory unit is bypassed.

i really don't want to put in an aftermarket radio, what about a flip up screen? would that be possible? do u have any other recommendations? I am trying to put in a mobile video system (xbox or ps2), i am gonna use my xbox as the main player (music and movies). monitors in the headrest and some how put a screen in the front, i am running out of ideas on setting up the front, i am trying to keep the stock look in the dash, i found a pioneer deck that matched our dash. thanks alot for the above feedback.

You can replace the information screen with a aftermarket one. You would have to move the info screen to the bottom pocket and remove the door. It's not too hard and I just did one last week. That way you can keep your factory system and still add the video. You can also do visor screens or just do a custom mounted screen. It all depends on what you are willing to spend and how much you are willing to compromise.
