I bought an additional remote on Ebay and these are the instructions that came with it. However, I haven't programmed it yet because the remote was damaged. I sent it back to the seller and he is sending me another. You can pick up these additional remotes from this guy for about 10 bucks plus shipping. Mine awas $16.00 total. Pretty damn good deal considering what a dealer will charge. Good luck.

6th gen Remote programming instructions:

1. Get in & lock the doors.
2. Insert the key into the ignition 6 times within 15 seconds.
3. Hazzard lights should flash.
4. Put key back into the ignition & turn to the run position but do not start.
5. Hit the lock button on the remote.
6. Hazzards should flash.

~If additional remotes go to step #7~
~No additional remotes go to step #8~

7. Unlock and lock the doors with the lock switch on the door and go to step #5.
8. Pull key out and open the drivers door and then close it
9. It should be set.

Remember if you have more than one remote you must program them all at the same time

Well if it's a Sticky, then I must check my Browser, because I'm still seeing it as a Regular thread.

yeah, if every thread became its own sticky, well.... we'd have to skip the first 2-4 pages to get to new posts. then absolutely no one would check them.

i dont think this works for the 2007 smart key. that should be mentioned in the top so people(like me) dont by the smart key and try to program it.

Has anyone been able to verify if the new 07 keyfobs work with other 6th generation maximas? They are selling them on ebay and I was wondeirng. I emailed the seller and he says they work because he has sold them to people with 05 maximas. The link is
