2004 Nissan Maxima Blank Keys

does anyone know if the 2004 Altima key is the same key as the 2004 Maxima? I need another Blank key, saw one on Ebay but its for an Altima. Looks like our key. Is there a Sticky on How to Program the KEY itself without going to the dealer. The keyfobs can be programed with programming guide. I want to know how to program the Key with transponder chip

You wont be able to do anything with a transponder key by yourself. Must go to the dealer.

Only a few can and they are very FEW. About the same price as the dealer. I went through this when I had the BMW. Believe it or not, some keys can run over 350 bucks for a single key and take a while to get....specific Euro cars. Do a search on transponder keys and you will know what I went through with the Bimmer. All newer cars seem to be going with this method....kind of a anti theft thing, but if someone wants your car...they will get it.

I had a caddy sts (actually still do) before my max and I was only able to get it done by the dealer. the key had a chip on it, and I needed to show dealer service dept my license and registration to get it done. I was like "license and registration, what am I getting...pulled over?" LOL

when i lost my keys they wanted 150 to program it and another 150 for the key itself. i would go on ebay buy the key/s and see if you can find someone with the program, to program them for you. otherwise just get it programmed by nissan

having non-Nissan programmers would defeat the purpose. anyone could buy a key and copy your VIN # to get one made. so you have to pay $200-300 for a new one.

Why do you insist on reposting your same questions over and over??????
