Strips along doors... get them chromed?
Has anyone thought about taking those trim strips along each side of the car, about halfway down the doors, and getting them done in chrome? I think a combo of that and those chrome strips that ramberg added to his bumper, and maybe the chrome inserts that go over the black plastic door/window dividers would look really good.
Can those strips come off the car easily? And how would I go about getting them chromed? Where would you go for something like that?

look on Thundermaxi's post above in the signature... the long thin strip that sticks out slightly from the doors, about halfway down on each side below the door handles... runs from wheel to wheel...

Were talking about the door ding molding. No there was no need to repaint. They are stuck on with the same cr@p as the all the emblems. I took mine off within the first two weeks I had the car, they pretty much fell off.

This is info I have been meaning to ask about (how these strips were attached).
As with almost all cars made these days, these strips are virtually worthless 'excuses' for ding protection. The chance an incursion by a nearby vehicle's door would make contact with this strip before hitting some other part of the side of the Maxima is slim.
I would like to take the OEM strip off and replace it with (carefully trimmed to fit) hard rubber molding about three-quarters of an inch thick. That would at least be somewhat functional. And it would coordinate with the hard rubber molding I put around the wheel wells.
There are so many total nerds around that I'm into protection rather than looks.

wow KC, I think that actually looks a lot better. I know my fricken dings are no where near the useless bars. Funny you guys siad about chrome, I saw a black Merc at the school today and wondered if I had crhome strips too. but it also had them on the front bumper. I also pondered how it's "billet" type grill is a Merc statement. So once I get $, black mesh for me.
