did u not just ask if he'll take $20k? according to edmunds and how I read it NO. They offered you an 03 for $18k. Dealers won't take less than the TMV price. Especially newer used ones, they need to at least sell what they gave for trade-in.

For what you're willing to spend at a dealer lot, you're looking at 03 and older.

But trade in states the price is $19,000. That means they would still make money. I think if the car has been there for a couple months and with the economy the way it is that a lot of dealers will take less then the supposed "TMV". You never know how much they got it for..

you thinking correctly, but variables ofter screw ya. It's more likely the person received a high trade-in value and that's why they're not budging. From what I've seen, the economy hasn't benefitted used buyers like it should.
if you really want that car at you're price, you'll have to wait until the 06 comes out shortly.

Yea, I've been waiting patiently.. I only want to spend $20,000 and that's what I offer everyone when I see one so hopefully when the 06 comes out someone will bite!!

Thanks for the replies.

I just want to say I LOVE my Max despite some of the problems. I feel that you read about the bad things of the Max and forget the good. These are great car with a few problems here and there. I’m sure if you did research on another car you would find the same. Anyways how many cars have a site as good as this one? It’s great to have a place you can speak freely about whatever you want and the people who are listening understand. Just my 2 cents. THIS CAR ROCKS!!!!!!

i was set on buying an acura tsx, but after driving it I wasn't that impressed. I had thought about the maxima before but never really followed through with it, until i test drove one. The new max's are insane, they are fast as hell, come factory with pretty much every option you need, beyond spacey inside, and they look nice too.

Purchased mine in December of 2003, only 1 problem and that was solved by new spark plugs, rock solid with ZERO problems other than that. My max Rocks also…
