Goodyear dealer problem...

I'm not sure why my other thread got closed but I guess I have to open a new one. I called Goodyear this morning, got my claim number, etc. Went to the Goodyear dealer who inspected my tires. Turns out that I have 2 others that have cracks in them 2. So, 3 out of the 4 tires need to be replaced. The dealer told me that he can't replace the 4th one b/c there is nothing wrong with it. My tires are 25% spent so they want $66 each for new ones. I asked the dealer about switching to the Dunlop and he said I would have to take it up with Goodyear directly but then went on to tell me that he thinks the RSA is a much better tire and that they only have problems with them on the Maxima. He said that he's only seen problems with the OEM equipment tires and that when he replaces them, they don't have any other problems. Just a bad batch of tires ors something. He also told me they use the RSA on the police cruisers. I would rather move out of the RSA and go into the Dunlop I think. If Goodyear allows me to do it, will I have to pay less than $66 b/c the Dunlop is cheaper than the RSA?? Times are tough and the more money I can save the better. I'm going to call Goodyear to see if they can replace the 4th tire as well b/c that's just stupidity on the dealer's part. Please let me know your input. Thanks.

You are getting screwed man, I had 2 that had splits and 2 that did not. They Prorated all 4 for me because they said they want to be sure bc the other ones might split in the future. Basically, I ended up getting MORE money for the non-split omnes bc they had less wear. I had 30k on the car too, call cust service and fight more and ask them why you are being treated differently

Your thread was closed because you violated the rule of not reading the stickies first regarding the tires. This is a well known issue.

[QUOTE=JAANND]

How long have you had the car? If it is less than a year you should have not paid for tires. Thats what I was told. Make them change all 4 tires. I had all 4 changed and on the 2ns set one of the tires blew on the sidewall while the car was standing still. I had all 4 replaced with F1's. I only paid the difference. I had 36,000 miles on my first set that was replaced and only paid 227 dollars which included stems, installation and tax. I can't find the bill but I remember what the total was. Call up and bust bal*s thats what I did. Warren
