It's the Maroon/Redish color. It's a company car.

I would say that I have purchased my last Nissan product. Hello Acura TL!! Virtually the same price & I can get the colors & options I want.

Jopa,

I got a 04 6th gen, 6 spd w/o leather, and I had the dealer install after market leather for $1k. The aftermarket is better than what comes from teh factory and .... it comes with a 5 YEAR WARRANTY. Go with that.

Possible idea...but you still can't get a Blue Maxima with a manual....the only color choices are silver, black, and smoke. Leather can be had with these in the manual. The web site was apparently messed up when I posted last time and appeared to offer no leather in a manual.

I still say that Nissan has become a stupid company....their marketing says that most manuals sold were these colors, therefore this all they offer, but it was a self fulfulling conclusion as dealers only stocked Black & Silver cars with manuals. You could hardly find other colors with manuals.

The Acura TL almost has this same problem, you can get many colors in the 6-speed, but on the dealer lots you only find Black & Silver ones 90% of the time.

I hope you enjoy your new Maxima...I like the car, just not the color choice limitations.

I have a feeling that there are a few Nissan engineers that will argue against putting 19" rims standard on the SE and 18" on the SL unless there are some substantial changes to the suspension to dampen the vibration. Think the shimmy is bad now, just wait. The question of the hour is whether or not the RSA tires make it through the 2006 production run and what will be on the larger rims?

That is pathetic!!!! (the lack of AUX)

sat in an SL this morning. cloth used for pillars and headliner is quite nice, kinda like a jersey knit and durable. bluetooth controls on the wheel. picked up a nice 06 brochure. I still can't tell if the screen changed. in the book, it states: multiple views for standard, so I guess so. the blue screen-shots for bluetooth are from the NAV screen I think.

I noticed the silver around the guages and on steering wheel is like the 04 stuff and not the etched alum. elsewhere

Looking at the NissanUSA website are the faces of the clusters darker and are the numbers more yellow than orange than that of the 04's and 05's?

Also, looking at the lighted steering wheel controls looks like a new project for Gec.

I posted earlier in another thread the 06' will not have any significant changes. I am good freinds with the owner of the Nissan Dealership that I bought my car from. He told me the basic future of the Max. The 07' will have a different interior and some different lights. The 08' will not change and then the 09' will be the next redesign.

Congrats and welcome. I guess the interior door panels and the center dash area. Do you have DPP, Sensory, or Audio?

I have an 05, and one thing i was most upset about was that most newer vehicles 05+ are getting mp3 cd players in their stock cars. Meaning that the regular cd player (single disk) plays mp3's... I think they need to get with the program and offer a cd player that plays mp3's without having to rip out your dash to replace it with something that does. I dont even think the Bose system plays mp3's???? Most of the new chevy's coming out have that in their base models or will have. That is a huge marketing tool. Almost everybody now uses mp3's, and some sort of ipod. Oh, well, back to the drawing board for the companies.

The 04 I have has a smaller pass through toward the rear, the 06 pass-through looks bigger and is in a better location, I also like the material used verse the plastic one I have, since the dimensions look the same, I may just order a replacement, Thanks for the pics, your new ride looks tight...

I'm checking into that too since I have the phone cord running through the middle of it.

Just bought my second Maxima yesterday, a 2006 SE Onyx with black leather, Bose, sensory package. Ended up snagging it for around $30k. I really wanted the "06 Smoke SE with chrome wheels and Elite package, but they wouldn't go below $37k and it was a DEMO!

Phone Cord Pass Thru

Looking at the pictures, you can also see that the center console coming up to the armrest has a notch at the top to allow that power cord to exit the console WITH the armrest down! That sure would have been a nice feature to have on my '04!! Not to mention the additional power outlet in the shifter bezel.

They had the notch on the '05s also.

Congrats and welcome to the newbies.

Nismo--yes, unfortunately the dealer PAINTS pinstripes on almost all of their cars. My brother owns a very nice custom body shop, I'll see if he can remove it without damaging the paint. Got a Trenz grille on the way and 15% Lumar tint to be done on Tues. On a side note, why can't I start a new thread, but I can reply to others?

I beleive that you have to do between 15-20 post before you can start a new thread. It is in the faq section. It is there to keep spammers out.

Nismo....That is wild that our 04's have different consoles! Mine is an early production make, took delivery in July, which is also without the SAT prewire. I can't imagine that there should be any differences to the console for Manual or Auto. Another Nissan improvement on the fly?
