Lexus, Nissan Are Big Winners in New Vehicle Satisfaction Study

TUSTIN, California — Lexus edged Cadillac as the brand with the highest overall owner satisfaction, and Nissan garnered the most individual nameplate honors in the 2005 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards from automotive consultant AutoPacific Inc.
The VSA survey calculates owner satisfaction in 45 specific areas related to a vehicle's operation, comfort, safety and the overall purchase/lease experience. The 2005 ratings reflect input from buyers and lessees of new vehicles acquired from September 2004 through January 2005.
The 2005 vehicle with the highest overall satisfaction in the survey was the Nissan Titan full-size pickup, while the highest rated car was the Nissan Maxima
. Nissan vehicles won or tied for first place in seven categories.
The only domestic product that was an outright winner in its category was the Lincoln Town Car, which placed atop the luxury/large car class. The Australian-built Pontiac GTO won the sporty car category, and the Chevrolet Equinox tied with the Hyundai Santa Fe at the top of midsize SUV.
Top-rated sports car was the Porsche 911, while the leading luxury car was the Jaguar XJ. The Scion xB topped the compact car category.
What this means to you: Nissan has keyed customer satisfaction to its on-going turnaround.

This is some good news for USA Nissan ....must be bonus time for the boys at the plants...
See us Aussies know how to make great cars too as well as great Beer....Pitty bout the GTO ..the last one comes off the line in two months ....production has been discontinued ....

GREAT FOR NISSAN!!!!
As for the GTO, its no suprise to me that its getting discontinued. I knew it the second they decided to take a vintage muscle car and turn it into a sport compact looking design, I knew it was doomed.
Maybe next time Pontiac will learn from Ford and keep the GTO's muscle car image that can match the HP it comes with.
As for the Max....I really think Nissan did a great job fixing all the gliches the 04's had. Its great to see the company realise they're mistakes and quickly made the proper changes. The 06 should be absolutely flawless!
