Borla's sound pretty damn deap but they don't make much noise at all. I have a Borla on my 02' Jag X-Type and it sounds good in tunnel's but it's not loud enough.

I'm a bit torn as to what muffler to choose. Personally I think you're fine going custom or manuf.'d. Either way I doubt you'd give the pipe's much thought after they're on. Save the cash and focus on the right muffler.

Not to long ago an Audi A6 rolled up next to me at a stop light and I could literally feel the rumble of his exaust, yet, it wasn't at all high pitched. Just 100% deap *** rumble and I'm bumpin my head against a wall for not following him to the next stop light to ask him WTF he put on an A6 to make it sound like a frikin V12 . . .

Maybe it was an Audi A8 with a V8 or something. . ., I'm not sure a v6 could rubmle so deep your kidney's pose the question " wtf is going on out there ".

OK so I started looking up magnaflow mufflers in google and found PN 14816 on an ebay store called 'performance-curve'. They are 143.88. Is this a good price? it's the lowest I've seen so far. Has anybody purchased from performance-curve before? Are they reputable?

thanx...max

I prefer Magnaflows over Flowmasters. Nice rumble and the resonation isn't as loud inside the vehicle. We have the flowmasters on our Hemi Dodge PU and the Magnaflows on the Cutlass and it's a huge difference. I'm not sure how they sound on V6 motors though, but with our experience I would go with the Magnaflows....and like someone else said..Ditch the Cherry Bomb's...this isn't a muscle car.

dont do anything ghetto, we have alot of ghetto we will weld anything on the cars in miami. I just bought the Greddy SP2. Do it right. Which shop quoted you that set up? Miami Muffler is one of the best in Miami if not the best. Give them a call ask for Miguel, he is the owner /manager.

Magnaflow mufflers

I could swear I asked this once before, but I searched and couldnt find it....anyway...I have already removed my resonator and put a straight pipe under the car, and I already have the CE-y pipe. There is basicly no point in me purchasing the whole Cattman catback system at this point am I rite? I would say just get the magnaflow mufflers and I basicly have the exact same setup....

what do you guys think?

well, i had that Greddy cat back system, i thought it was too queit, and ugly as well IMO. so i left the catback system the way it is, and replaced just the mufflers from greddy to magnaflow. boy'o'boy a world of difference. now having my magnaflows for about 6 months or so, feels like their tuning in, what a sound. my favourite sound is at 3200 RPM. something magical takes place at that RPM.

now 2 things i'm considering are, the CE y-pipe and deleting the small resonator that i have completely. i will not tolerate getting smoked by ricers. bad for the mind and heart. for the 2 changes that i am considering, am i gonna have big gains in sound and horse power???

magnaflow is a sick choice, thats what i have, originally a greddy catback system, then got sick of those barrels in the back (greddy mufflers), and now i'm curious if i should pull out that bit of resonator i have left and stick in the CE y-pipe to finish it off. but yes, just swap the mufflers IMO and your good.

Gains in horse by exhaust alone are garbage IMO.

The results are negligible and the real value is in the change of sound and feel of your car alone (and boy are those Magnaflow's worth it!).

Granted the aftermarket exhaust will help the engine perform at its peak, you still shouldn't expect much in the way of raw horse by exhaust alone.

Maximob, where'd you pick yours up from?

I'm looking to get the same exaust and add the magnaflow's down the line. Thanks!

I didn't say anything about headers!

He asked about performance gaines, I gave him the truth!

So maybe it's not *garbage*, I believe negligible summed it up nicely though.

It goes like this.

Greddy owners will say theirs are the best and the same goes for the Cattman owners.

It all depends on the look, the sound and the price you want to pay.

This is how my Greddy looks.

If there was some sort of rear bonnet that would close around these aftermarket exhausts it would look great....like the new 911 turbo, I just cant get past the look of seeing more muffler than muffler tip, ya know?

Cherry bomb mufflers!?

Maybe you should design a rear bonnet and than talk to CE or RLM about making it.

there's a Nismo CAI for the Max now-no need for Altima one which needed modification to fit properly. I installed mine 2 months ago and am very satisfied with sound and performance(from 4000-6500 RPM anyway-lol).
Overall, the best bang for my 300 bucks.
