It's time to drop

Im thinking im finally ready for a drop. I know there has been issues with the Eibachs, some have had probs, some havent. Theres the Cattman springs that people seem to be content with and Im sure theres a few others out there by now. I need opinions on which to buy... I tried researching the Cattmans on their website but found nothing for our gen. Please give me some insight guys, im wanting this done soon.

Thanks in adv.

Mike

Ya what he said. I got my Cattmans and I love them, I ordered with the rear sway bar also. I cant stand to look at stock now, I dont even want to remember how it drove before but it was junk compared to now.

Goo luck bro,

My Eibachs have served me well. I researched all of the noise issues people were having and I admit I was a little concerned going in but I pulled the trigger just the same. I couldn't be happier with my combination of Eibachs and adjustable shocks and struts. The only thing that really held me up was my concern about the Eibachs messing up my stock struts and shocks. So I took a little longer to get them put on cause I had to save up for the aftermarket struts and shocks.

I have just a 2 inch drop on the front from eibach with stock struts and shocks. No issues so far (knock on wood) and the look is perfect with the 20's.

I had my Eibachs on for about a year and a half with no problems at all, if I was to to buy now though, I'd go the Cattman route for sure (with the RSB)

i say go with cattman springs. i have koni/front kyb/back shocks with eibachs and have noise issue. i've tried everything from greasing to wire wrapping. the clunking sound still exists. i was leaning toward k-sport coilovers, but i already spent a lot of $$$ on my current setup.

I as looking at some Intrax springs, they sell for about $225'ish. Asked dealer how much to install, since I was laready getting an oil change, and the quoted me $760 for labor plus $80 alignment. Seems like way to much. How much should an install be? Ballpark'ish.....

You'll still have to get the alignment done but around $200 for installation labor only sounds about right. You can do it yourself but be very careful since you'll be working with loaded springs. Getting help from a buddy is a good idea.

The characterics between eibachs and cattman are probably pretty damn close. I think what it comes down to is what color spring do you wanna go with?

By the way what are springs used for?

Check tire pressure. Take it alignment specialist. Does it pull when u brake, or all the time?

Is anyone finding the need to add caster/camber plates when you lower the car? Anyone do this with the Cattmans?

My Eibachs came in yesterday. I want to do this install myself, but never worked on a Nissan before. I've only lowered Honda's. Would it be installed the same way as the Honda's? I looked under my hood just for fun and didnt know how to take off those engine covers to unbolt the strut. Is there a writeup of how to exactly do it? I've tried searching, but its not as specific as I would want it to be.

Hey MO, how bout some pics!!!!

2004Smoke: No need to adjust camber. I had mine checked and its about 1 degree negative which is very good for spirited street driving.

I don't have a write up but have pics on my website of the install.

The front of the car is a strut spring combo ( need spring clamps) Remove the plasitic cover in the engine bay, remove the 3 bolts holding the strut to the frame and remove the two bolts behind the rotor. Place the spring compressors on the springs, make sure they are taunt, then remove the nut on the end of the strut shaft. Spring comes off and then pop the new one on.

In the rear, its a seperate spring strut setup.

Lift car up, put on frame stands, then take the jack and put under the spring holder part. Its a hindged part and only one bolt needs to be removed. Cause the spring is under pressure that why the jack is there, oonce the bolt is removed, slowly lower the jack and out comes the spring, then put new spring in, use the jack to line up the holes, put bolt in and done, the back end is really easy to do.

They no longer have the group deal that was mentioned here going on. Call Brian and I'm sure he can hook you up if you buy springs and an RSB. I ordered mine last night.

I have had EiBachs on my ride for about 18 months now and I have had ZERO problems and ZERO noise. IMO, I still think they are the best bang for the buck.

Deus - Did you install your springs yourself or someone local - I also live in the wonderful city of Upland.

Any Ideas of who you would recommend for the install?
