I did mine in about an hour, pull the drivers side tire and wheelwell fender off/out of the way to get the air box out and I found the easiest way to install the CAI is to put the filter on at the end where it belongs and then feed the whole assembly from the bottom. The pipe was very slippery when tightening the clamp around the filter with the pipe in the car which is why I did it the other way. Other than that a pretty easy install.

I really wish i did it this way, because man was it hard to put that filter on. So bad that it actually fell off when i took it out for the test drive.

I had the same problem, lying on my back trying to hold the filter in place and ensuring it did not slide and tighten it all at the same time. Then the light bulb went off and walla, it worked!

Since I never really gave any thought to this type of mod, whats the advantage to this, do you get better mpg, hows the noise level and most importantly is this gonna eventually kill the MAF

Based on the opinions on here the consenus is it is a worthless mod but after taking all of the crap out of the front of the car the CAI really cleans the engine compartment up and I have to believe that with a straight shot and the tubing all one size it has to help. There has been discussions on whether or not the ECU will compensate for the extra air or not and then since in essence all an engine is an air mover the easier air gets in(intake) it needs to get out easier(exhaust) so if you do one and not the other....

Being a prior Ford guy I never left any of my cars alone, they all got at least a good air filter and a freeer flowing exhaust.

Does anyone have a step by step install procedure? or even some pics, they would help alot. Have to install these things as fast as possible, so that way the wife doesnt see it in process, the faster I do it the less chances to get any sh*t from her. :-)

Didn't you get the instructions from Injen or did you buy the kit used?

Thats what I'm sayin' I cant imagine dropping that many bones on a part and not getting any instructions with it. Even my Berk intake had detailed instructions with pictures.

just installed mine - the instructions that came with it were good but you definitely don't have to remove the bumper or grill - i followed the advice given above and it was a 1hr 30min. install (i'm not mechanically inclined)

sounds great - not sure if i can tell a difference in the drive - haven't driven it around enough yet

I did buy a new Intake, but I have not had a chance to install it yet. After work and then the gym, no time. So I was trying to get a heads up on any pics and ideas any one will have on how to make the process easier.
Thanks
Jon

thats not entirely true. by itself, it will get you 1-5 horsepower... , but when combined with a freer flowing exhaust and possibly some computer changes it will help get the air flowing and can help you get up to 15hp over the stock air box. it doesnt help by itself because the point is to make the engine breathe easier, it doesnt matter how well you can breathe in, if youre blowing air out a straw you get jack.

I agree, if you do some exhaust work as well as putting more air into the engine then it shold have some benefit. Just stating what others had said on here, not saying I agree.
