Broken Steering Wheel? Need advice...

My father has an 04 se with the driver preferred package. within this option is a power exit and entry (steering wheel moves up-- seat moves back to get in and out easier). However lately, the steering wheen has stayed in the up position a few times. Basically, it's like driving a bus. And other times, once you pop the key in the ignition it goes back to your memory setting like normal. What could be the cause for the wheel to get stuck in the up position? would appreciate your advice! Thanks

If the control **** is touched or adjusted when car is off, it won't return to memory.

Why not just have Nissan look at it?

nah, its a simple fix...

its either the auto out on/off setting, or the programming of the seats...

You may have the setting off for the auto-exit. You should check if it is on or off by checking on the information screen. I forgot what button it is, but there is a settings button on the dash that you can set various things on the car such as headlights auto-on/off, windshield wiper speed sensitivity, and many others inlcuding the auto-exit (steering wheel and seat moving when exiting car) ......If this setting is on, then you should probably just take it to the dealer

How do you turn the exit/entry on and off? I never knew that..that would be pretty helpful.

Personal settings screen, it only works when ignition is on and car is parked.

Oh yeah, with DPP.

It kinda sounds like you either didnt have the presance of mind to put it back into the regular position and drove it like a bus (unless of course, the **** was unresponsive, in that case there is a real problem)

You have to have the 5AT I believe... I don't think that this option is offered with the 6MT.

there is somewhat of a flaw in that auto entry system....i have it as well and at times either the seat wont move all the way foward, or sometimes on of my mirros goes nuts for whatever reason.

Bring it to Nissan.
