I've already sent off an e-mail to the makers of this turbo kit. I'll update when I get a response.

Here's the response I got from Car Tuning:

"Thanks for your kind words,

do you have any pictures that you can send over of the engine in the engine bay, from many angles, and perhaps a shot (or 10) of the VQ out of the car from different angles? It'll certainly help give us an idea of the vehicle .

All the best,

Kevin Margitta
www.cartuning.ca"

I've sent them a couple of shots of my engine bay, if anyone has any photos of the engine out of the bay please post. I will get those to him as soon as I can. Thanks.

That's what some of us talked about a while back. Move the battery and stock intake for a single turbo or supercharger setup. I have an inkling that someone's 6th gen is in the shop for something like this as we speak.

Hold your horses guys.

The turbo kit posted is NOT for our engines. It's for a 3800 Series motor found in Pontiac GTPs, Monte Carlos, Imapas, ect. The company that makes the kit is called Car Tuning Performance(www.cartuning.ca). I've e-mailed the guys over there a bunch of photos of our engines both in and out of the bay as they requested.

I will update you guys as soon as I hears something. I will also follow up tomorrow.

I didn't find an address on their site but I did find a phone number: 416-863-TUNE for general inquiries.

Give 'em a call and see what they say. The more inquires the better.

High 9s and low 10s, actually. Former GTP owner. Sorry...habit to correct when unnecessary in another car forum.

as a former GTP owner you do know they come stock with a supercharger that needs to be removed in order to install this turbo setup..... when you remove the supercharger you also lose horsepower therefor your overall hp is less than 400 @ the wheels.... I doubt 9 sec from 400 whp is obtainable..... i have raced against some viscious cars with 400+whp and few reach 10sec 1/4 mile times let alone 9 sec...... if there is something I am missing please enlighten me....

Yes...I do know that, but thanks for the clarification (for those who don't know). While I would do a nice job of prefacing and developing insightful prologues, allow me to just give you a link. Well, I will say this (I couldn't resist). This car is obviously a race setup. He does drive it occassionally, so it's arguable as to whether or not it deserves a "daily driver" status. Probably not, but there are daily drivers with turbo setups that do run in the 10s and 11s. You should come to my event next year if you want to see a few. Mind you...this particular setup prolly produces 750+ whp. So, you're right...a 400 whp 9-sec run is NOT obtainable, but most of the guys I know of with a turbo "GTP" aren't only running 400 whp setups.

Tuner:
http://intense-racing.com/

These guys also produce a kit. In fact...this tuner and the one above are constantly one-uping each other. Both have produced 10-sec supercharged cars, but ran into too many limitations. Enter the turbo setup.

BTW, here's my former baby

ohh I like the gtp don't get me wrong it's just your post made it sound like slap this turbo on and obtain the impossible..... I mean I have seen some 8 sec cars and well that is insain for a quarter mile.... many things have potential and well we are pretty much at the basics when it comes to HP upgrades..... once we establish a turbo set up or supercharger setup that bolts on then building just gets easier and better..... I know we can make setups for our car it's just some of us don't want to tear the hood off to make one fit so a direct bolt on that doesn't require a whole lot of fabrication would make most of us happy..... that is why this is important and a touchy area.... I don't want people getting the wrong idea as far as what they are able to obtain from this setup....

Well, I couldn't agree with you more. This is DEFINITELY NOT a PnP for a Max. I have been researching (only for a few days) a turbo setup at a local store. They've done turbos for a variety of setups, including my old Jeep Cherokee 4 liter. In relation to the Maxi, they recently did a setup for my buddy's 350Z. It's sic. I'll get you guys more info as I get it.

The link is informational only. No need to contact these guys. They know there's interest.

Ok so..........

www.ststurbo.com makes a generic kit that will fit any car. You just need the kit mounted and tubing to be fabbed.

in order to make a specific kit, they need interest.

Can some of you guys email

david@ststurbo.com

Since this is a "different" setup then a regular turbo you can expect it to fit on Maxima, Altimas 6 and 4 cyl engines.

I trust this design a lot more then any previous turbo designs as it actually gets cold air from the back of the car and the charged air is much cooler.
From reviews of magazines and different articles there is not much trubo lag at all as the exhaust spooling the turbo is alredy dense by its travel time to the rear of the vehicle. Plus it will pass all emissions as a result of the turbo being behind the cat.

Anywhoo the design is ingenious, my dads brother is a thermal engineer for a steel company and he was wondering how no one came up with this design 20years ago. I gues thats why its already patented.

so if your interested in having a whicked design on our whicked Maxis, email this dude

david@ststurbo.com
david@ststurbo.com
david@ststurbo.com

and tell him how u feel.
