Muffler??

Hey quick question, i was looking to get just magnaflow mufflers just to replace the stock ones. The guy at the muffler shop said the pipeing from the muffler is good and i wouldnt have to replace that. I would defiently love to buy the Greddy sp2, but i can save about 600 dollars. Now i am wondering if this is a good idea to just go with the mufflers, or how it would sound, or is it worth it. I just put my fujita in a couple weeks ago just to let you know.
So i dont know let me hear the suggestions or thoughts on what i should do. Thanks guys

I say go for it...... the stock muffler was put on for noise reduction..... it will have a growl to it I'm sure, however performance wise you aren't doing too much..... the resonator and cat are the most restrictive parts on the exhaust setup.... I think you will like the results..... I was thinking about doing that myself but if the turbo is ever made for this thing I don't want to have to do more work on the exhaust...... So I guess the question is what are your intentions with your car??? if you want more hp then do the whole thing.... sound and looks replace the mufflers and maybe the cat..... but if money is an object which god knows it is..... then either save for the sp2 or get the magnaflows...... I think we are back at your original question..... lol what is best for you I think is the right answer..... keeping your long term and short term goals in mind.......

hmmm, well if you can't save $600-800 ... then how's about credit cards?

I'm just not a big fan of "mufflers" ... i would just save the $150 or how ever much... and buy an intake for an extra $50 bucks....

But....... But..... if you were to get just a muffler,... get something good.. worth your money,... no e-bay junk.

what does an intake have to do with mufflers, and he just said that he already had an intake!

it will drone. loudly. but if you like that extra noise than i guess it's alright.

had a magnaflow on my 3rd gen. anything below 60 mph, the noise was loud.

Choice is still yours but at almost $400 for just mufflers then whatever it costs to have them welded on or $600 for the sp2......? what is it worth to you

wow where do you shop..... 400 dollars for the mufflers is deffinitly too much.... at most 300 installed..... that's with cutting and welding..... I would go and price it out..... see what you can afford and go from there.... but if 400 is the price, I would deffinitly wait and get the bolt on catback sp2 if that's your style..... I am thinking of getting 4-3inch N1tips and straight pipe with a high flow cat stock OEM y-pipe....... that is if they make headers and if the turbo from GM works for our car..... not purchasing any exhaust until this is all cleared up..... why do it twice..... plus I like the N1 titanium glow tip exhaust but I want the silencer ones so I don't sound like a honda..... they have real N1s with silencers to adjust for top end or low end torque......

I just bought my 06 Max and previously had a 2000 Impala. I put a Flowmaster on it after a couple years. I saw a slight increase in power, could be in my head, but I loved the way it looked and sounded. It was deep but not too loud. I was under the impression I could do the same but with two flowmasters this time, will I feel any more power increase and will it be too loud?

what about just installing sp2 type of muffler?
not exactly the same but its not a bolt on it has to be welded in the back.
will that sound nice with oem everything else but the sp2 type mufflers?

I've had my Magnaflow's on for quite awhile now and they still sound great! I went with the 14816 and also had an aftermarket resonator installed and replaced the stock crimped pipe. I get comp's on its looks and sound all the time... Try it, you'll love it! I know theres quite a few others on here with the same setup that will tell you the same thing! Just run a search, there were countless threads on this same subject

Crucify me if this is already somewhere else but I have searched and couldn't find it. I think it would be cool to see the back view of everyones car. We get some here and some there but now is a good time to get the collection of every ones exhaust. I was considering going with 2 squared tips, instead of the 2 dual round tips what are your opinions?

Remus type square? If they are slightly rounded in the corners, they should look good.
