you guys can't go from his sound if you have a totally different exaust, they will sound completly different..

from the get go, the greddy sounds lower than the cattman so in sound the cattman will get worse in noice..

Hey bro, the sound is deep and rumbly but not ricey. I am very pleased at the sound on the road too because the sound is now lower (deeper) than when I had the CE Y-Pipe. I also noticed an improvement off the line since I now have a high flow Cat and added back pressure for low end TQ. SWEET Sorry bro, what was your other question?

Oh and OT, I just got my KYB rear shocks in today and I'm going outside to jack her a$$ up and install before going to the track tomorrow. Thanks bro, you turned me on to these, hoping for minimum squat and straight down the line performance, since the roads here are super smooth, I'll dial them up to 6. When complete I will post in the new suspension section of the Org....

Peace...

Sorry about the resonator question. I would have sworn there was a post by U Chern that is no longer there. Maybe I've been smelling to0 much coffee! LOL! Something about firecracker like backfires. I heard an 04 Max with Magnaflo''s recently and I thought it sounded real nice and mean! So no issues at all so far? Just performance and sound when you need it?!
I've been to your site on Car Domain and it's quite something. I am a real navy nut. I've been to Norfolk VA and done the tour back when Bush Senior was in office during the 1'st Iraq operation. I believe that was summer of '91, man time flies! My wife and I headed down to VA Beach for summer vacation. There was a carrier coming back from a tour and some of the birds (3 or 4 different kinds) hit the beach on a "were home" fly-by! Now that's a low rumble! LOL! Lot's of respect dude!

Peace!

Will 253 at the wheels hang with a 350Z? I want to see the graphs also. I would like to see how fast and long your engine builds the power.

When I went to Maryland International Raceway July 16th 2006, my times where better then two 350Z running that day, with temps about 92 degrees and 85% Humidity, I was puttin down 14.1's and neither of the Z's could break 14.4...

Luvlee,
I have a buddy who thinks he's Jeff Gordon in a TSX but of course the Max "performs better"(hint hint) on a regular basis. Well apparently his feelings have been hurt and he's looking to get a 350 6spd.

Would love to see what the ECU reprogram would do to your numbers. I'm thinking though, the ECU program would have to be modified to factor in the headers. Perhaps there's a formula that Technosquare uses.

Well I do pretty well and I'm well aware of the limitations of our ride, their are lots of cars faster than the Max, even when modded. I've been spanked on the track but keep driving, most of those cars are not street legal or gutted out rides modified only for the track. Wanting to change cars because his pride got hurt is just plan dumb. I love the roominess and features of the Max, hope he enjoys squeezing into the 350Z and the limitations of passengers and cargo room...

Guys, if you drive a 350z after being in the max, you start comparing it to a max, not comparing a Max to a 350z.

My 6SP, on lowered suspension and beefy brakes my car outdid G35 and kept up with a Supra all day at the track.

Also, where is a good place to store pics?

Lovin that Max.

Chermax is pushing more than that.

OK, this is weird, RedMax downloaded the new Dynojet software and this version is newer than what was used by SSR engineering. At SSR the run files show (because I called and verified) 253.1 with the new software it shows 252.07 (scratch head), anyway I finally have a copy of my 3rd pull.

If I get headers on my car, which has the modified ECU, we shall find out how much power that is. Im already having trouble keeping the wheels from spinning all the time

NICE! Good job! I agree about the 350Z vs Max comparison. Lot's of guys have told me that my car looks like a 4 door 350Z...I tell them that the 350Z is a two door MAX! LOLZ!

Drop it, Drip it and Drive it!

Although the mods which alter emissions devices such as cats are illegal, the car comes with THREE. The engines nowadays run so clean, cats are prolly not needed. But, the headers do have a built-in cat at the y-pipe. Unless the smog mechanic knows about the pre-cats and can actually see where to look, chances are it will pass the visual and it most certainly will pass the sniff test.

I think if at least one cat is on there, we are doing our job in protecting the environment while modding our rides. I have learned u sometimes have to take a calculated risk when u mod ur car.

I have a VW Vanagon with a smog legal Subaru engine conversion. I dont even tell the mechanic about it, even though its legal, and they cant tell there is a Suby engine in there . . hahahahahaha.

When you install custom y-pipes then U R removing the two pre-cats..right?

I guess it's not a good idea to remove the main cat and replace that with a HI-FLO cause there is not enough back pressure too?

You still will have 2 pre-cats in the headers. I also passed inspection with my CE y-pipe.

My payout was about 2K since I did most of the work myself...

So I am quoting only the total price to pay for the following parts:

Injen CAI
Greddy Catback
Unorthodox Racing Pulley
Hotshot Headers
APEXi Super AFC-II tuning computer
