Nissan Maxima 2004-05 APEXi Power Intake Kit

This is what I want, I emailed Berk and they said "We only have that intake in stock with the AEM filter. It has been a very
popular option because it gives you most of the benefits of the Apexi
filter, but at a reduced cost. Those kit are good and in stock. Your price
is $129.99 w/ free shipping on that kit.

Regards,

Bryan
Berk Technology

IS THIS WORTH IT<OR DOES THE APEXI FILTER MAKE A DIFFERENCE OR SAME ****?????????

THANKS

the aem filter is better than the apexi because it flow more air ,the apexi filter is like the stock filter .the aem is like the k&n open, more air more power

The Apexi filter has been proven to flow higher than K&N and filter wayyy better. I dunno where you got your info from, but its not completely accurate. I dont doubt that its a good filter because the new AEM filters are supposedly dry element like that apexi.

here is a little test i use on the apexi and stock filter, if you hold the apexi filter and the stock filter up to the light, you will see the same amount of light coming through both of them .

i had the berk tech intake with the apexi filter, the apexi power filter reduces air turbulence within the filter and creates smooth air flow into the throttle body . this is true, but the aem oil filter is more open and give a higher amount of air at full open throttle

i had the apexi filter on my berk for quite a while, after sometime i got tired of it and ordered a foam oil filter....suposidly i herd foam was better for performance etc....i put it on, i def cant say that it chopped .5 of my et's but maybe a really slight difference is there.

I believe foam flows better but the filtration is horrible. Here is an old page that shows the difference between certain filters.

sorry to bump this back up, but to the original thread starter, did you end up buying the intake with the AEM filter?

I could be wrong but I believe the thread starter purchased from us and went with the Berk w/ APEXi. Could be different people but both are from CT.

You will most likely feel a loss in the low-end, but you will feel a little in the mid-top end; but we're talking about around 5HP max(to the wheels) so it's not like it'll make that much of a difference. Combine an intake+full exhaust(headers just came out!) and you'll notice a pretty decent power gain across the whole power-band imo. Hope this helped
