Fog Light Opinion

Hey guys,

I am replacing the fogs in my max from the dingy yellow ones i have to a set of piaa's.. i havent decided whether to go blue or super white.. what would look best with my HID headlights? here are some sample links for you guys to choose from..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PIAA-...ayphotohosting

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PIAA-...ayphotohosting

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PIAA-...ayphotohosting

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PIAA-...ayphotohosting

Please by all means, dont think I want to limit my replacement H3's to these sole fogs alone. If you do have any suggestions please do link me Thank you guys

for some reason, whenever i go and buy some aftermarket h3's, one of them blows out.
I'd spend around $200 to buy a set of h3 hids for the fogs..

btw, go with white.

you have HID in the headlights not the fogs...there is a group deal in the GD section...plenty of guys have installed them with great success --- Kenny

me 2 homes. I wish I they made the D2R bulbs in Yellow that would match the yellow fogs. All cars in France drive on Yellow Lights only.

listen really have no idea about these HIDs. buh want to learn.

hey for all those who achually have the mini h3 or full size h3s as fogs...

question
1. are they all HIDs or no? if no, what are they?
2. should i stick to non-HID fogs or go 3000K yellow?
3. have your passenger side fogs blown out? if yes, have you found the problem or just left it and keep replacing?
4. under what condition have your fogs gone out? (i mean is there a connection onto y they blow out?)
5 i plan on goin 6 or 7000K HIDs in my headlights, will i need to change my ballast, and transformer?

thankxz again

Ok, my 04 max just got delivered on thurs. My passenger fog light is out.
What bulb should I get to replace it. Is there an easy way to change it, without disencombooberating the half the front end to get to it? has there been some problems with that side of the car, and the driving light?

I have HID mini H3's in my fogs, 6000k.

#1. if you get an HID kit, they are all HID's, don't get those bulbs that say they output like HID's cause the don't.

#2. a 3000k HID bulb will be best over any bulb. this depends on how much you are willing to spend.

#3. as an HID kit, it has its own ballast, the ballast gives the bulb its own power, so I think they won't blow like the oems would. the HID will last longer.

#4. this only applies to oem lights, we think they are getting too much power somehow, or the stock lights just plain suck.

#5. if you plan on going 6-7000k in the headlights and already have HID's in them, you don't have to change the ballast or anything but the bulb..

  1. How hard is the install for the hid fogs?? Do I gotta remove the headlight assembly off the car?
  2. How about putting it back on?
  3. Do I have to realign/re-aim both headlights?
  4. Is everything plug and play when installing the hid fogs?

Thanks

the bumper has to come off, then the headlights. the kit is plug and play, but you do have to drill a small hole in the plastic cover covering the fog light, and some simple splicing into wire.

taking everything on and off is all simple.

you don't have to reaim anything..

I have a how to here:

you have to register to see it though, free..

There's info on how to change the bulbs in the stickies, you DO NOT have to remove the bumper (for reg bulb replacement, HID however is a different install)

I would go with the whites, but that's personal taste....yellow might be an interesting option.
