How many Miles do you drive a year in your 6 gen?

I doubt if you will see an improvement in mileage even when you go to much slicker synthetic motor oil. There are too many other factors that affect gas mileage for you to see any difference between Shell dino and Castrol dino oils. I also suspect that the engine has an easier time pumping through or past the Fram filter than it does pumping oil through the Pure one.
I keep all of my tires at 32 psi cold. Thus, when they get warmer, the pressure is actually higher.

I try to keep my tire inflated at around 33psi to get better gas mileage. Is this ok? Reccomended is 32psi, but then again it says for high speeds, inflate cold to 38. Most of my commute is highway driving of between 70-80mph. Is that considered high speed, or does high speed refer to 100+mph?

I was slightly wrong in my earlier post. I keep my tires at 35 psi cold. I put 30 K miles on the Good Years at this pressure and did not notice that the center tread wore faster than the outer tread -- what you would expect if a tire is actually over-inflated. The cups that these tires developed were due to a bad wheel allignment from the factory and tire pressure had nothing to do with their development.
Suggest you consider going up to 35 psi.

I've tried mostly keeping it between 32/33 for a while now. But I will try having it around 34/35 and I'll check if I get any improvements.
I use a digital gauge that has an accuracy of +/- 1% and/or +/-.5
The gauge reads pressures between 15 and 150 I believe, so I think its a fairly decent gauge. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but this will do -- it cost me 15 bucks though.

I'm averaging about 7000 a year--about 20% stop-and-go with the rest highway. I have a 97 Escort that I drive to work and within the city that gets about the same mileage as the Max and possesses the added advantage that I don't worry about it getting dinged or scratched...

Well lets see here. I got my 2006 Max in June of this year. I just hit 4,500k so in 5 months I drove 4,500k so within a year I can say I drive about 9,000k give or take. I only really drive to work about (10-12 miles) and the little I drive around is to go to the store.

I just got my 05 Max a month ago. I have already put about 3000 miles on it. Work has me traveling all over the south east and I travel back home on the weekends. I can see myself easily putting about 36-40k per year. About 90% hwy miles though, but a mile is a mile right?

I've heard that highway mileage isnt as bad on your engine compared to city driving. Is this true? And what kind of maintanence levels/intervals do you think I should follow? So far I have been very strict to 3750 for my oil changes [I just hit 7500 Friday] and I've had 2 oil changes and rotated my tires. As of now, I'm sticking to dino-oil until its 'safe' to use synthetic. However this interval means I'll have about 8 oil changes a year and 2 tire rotations! Should I extend my interval to 5,000 since its mostly highway driving? Or keep at 3750 per the manual?
Lastly, at this rate of about 30,000 miles a year, how many miles do you think I can expect out of this car? Seeing as though my 36,000 mile warranty won't last me too long...

I have had my car for 5 months and just broke 12K. Also i dont know if there is a difference with the other years but i have an 07 and the dealership says synthetic blend is recommended for my car. I asked for full but they said no always use the blend and I still bring it in ever 3750 miles.

IMHO you should only use dino oil for the first 10K miles and then switch to full synthetic. Check out all of the posts in the Fluids & Lubes section of this site. Most (but certainly not all) members follow this break-in method.
The SynBlend (IMHO) is just a marketing gimmick by the oil companies. Go one way or the other.
