Remote Start

I would got to a Car shop and ask if they have any unused older models to sell and install look for the older viper791x if possible I love that bad boy remote start. But it will probably cost around 175-250 to install!

Keyless entry? isn't OEM keyless entry?

Also can a remote start be added without the other clutter and for how much?

For the installers, what are the options for the 07 with the smart key. The best I can figure out is to run the bypass (556 I think) with the hard key, then I would have to disarm with the alarm remote before I could start.

Is there a way (or a DEI product) that will let me incorporate my smart key with the aftermarket alarm? Or is there a better way than what I described to hook it up? Kind of sucks having the smartkey then having to pull out a remote. Also sucks to not have remote start, the extended range, 2 way lcd, dual stage shock sensor, and all the other features of the aftermarket alarms.

You can use the "hard" key in a 556U and have a remote start installed on the smart key. You can also have an alarm installed with the smart key. The only thing is that you can't have a 2-way pager without the aftermarket remote.

Take it to a good installer and he'll be able to do it for you.

Mind explaining what a "hard" key is?

I don't mind walking with 2 remotes, if i can get a REAL alarm and remote start....along with the ability to start ac/heated seats and other accessories.

Rec any kits?

Thanks for the info. I'll probably get everything hooked to the factory remote and keep the aftermarket remote seperately. That way, I can do everything (start, arm, disarm, etc.) from the factory remote. Once the newness of the smartkey wears off, I'll already have the 2 way remote. I thought I would have to lose the smartkey before your response.

They make it hard with all the features....I love the smartkey, but I love the LCD and extended range of the DEI remote too. It's nice to know I can have them both if I wanted. Thanks.
