Finally installed my headrest monitors

Well, After about 2 months of having these headrest lying around I decided to install them myself this past weekend. My 06 does not have leather so I couldn't order one of those pre-installed kits. I had to go with a set of 6.5 TFT monitors because anything else would be too big. I installed my carpc myself but was hesitant about cutting up my headrest but after a couple of beers I decided that I can do anything an installer can if I do enough research and take my time with the project. To be on the safe side I went to a local junkyard and picked up a set of headrest to practise on. After I installed the first one I decided it was time to do the real thing. First I did the electrical work and tested the displays to make sure they both worked and then started the install. Took me about 1 hour to get them installed and I fastened them down to the metal support frame with some zip ties (these things aren't going anywhere). All in All I'm pretty satisfied with the way they came out and I saved myself some money. I have them hooked up to both my pc and my headunit which is also a DVD player. Pretty cool cause the rear passengers can watch movies or surf the internet at the same time. All three screens (touchscreen and headrest) operate independently from one another so everyone can do their own thing

Next I will be installing the Xbox 360

It looks good, I would love to have some more details regarding your carputer; What frontend are you using? How do you connect to the internet?, Could you post pics with the system on? What brand touchscreen did you go with? Is there a dvd/cd drive in the pc case? Do you have gps navigation, if so what software did you go with?
Here are some pics of my install;

First, I'm a newbie on this forum so I don't know how to post my own thread so I have to tag my question in this thread. Second, all of the installs in this thread look vicious! I'm looking to mod my '05 Max SE in similar ways. I'm looking to install an AEM CAI, but AEM said they do not make bypass valves for the 05 Max. I live in MD, and the weather can be very tricky, so I wanted to know if anyone had a solution or know of anymore CAI kits I can purchase that offer the bypass valve. I also have a 2000 watt Rockford system in my car, (and planning to add an Eclipse HU DVD/Navi w/ harddrive) and I wanted to add an Optima battery, but the polls are backwards, any solutions to this problem as well.

Any info will be helpful

That looks sweet! Thanks for the pic gec! However, forgive me for my ignorance, but does anyone know how they were able to connect the battery (i.e. did they use battery cable extensions?). I'm also looking to install a yellowtop if that helps. Also, do I need to upgrade my alternator to keep the yellowtop charged? I'm a do it myself guy, just like every other man thinks they are, but who could I go to to have the battery done if I need extension cables? I installed my amplifiers, but I believe this job is a little bit different. Also, are there any preferences w/ CAI's. I've heard the Injen is a little louder than the AEM, so I wanted to stick with something that's not too loud while idling w/ little whistling noise, but you can hear it around 4500 rpm.

Unmatched, I wasn't sure if your question was directed at me or gec.
* I use an Aopen mini pc with combo drive that sits below my passenger seat.
* I use RR as my frontend and (like you) Blue Devil as my main skin. Also like to use Freedom from time to time.
* I access the internet via DUN on my Treo 700 (patched so Sprint can't detect that I'm using it as a bluetooth modem).
* GPS via BU-353 reciever and Iguidance 3.0
* My monitor is a 7" Lilliput but I'm debating if I should swap it out for a Xenarc because of the auto auto switching (so I can finally connect my nightvision back up camera)
* For input I use the same keyboard and mouse you do

Try reading some of the forum announcements and stickys and you may get your questions answered. I'd like to not see another member's thread hijacked by you in the near future.

The installs look really good BTW.
