Headlight Lenses.. HELP
Headlight Lenses.. HELP
I installed a plug and play convo kit for my headlights and today I noticed that the headlight lenses were fogging up... I never noticed this before so I'm thinking it has something to do with the install. Any ideas?
I had the same problem but my kit was a kit for 9006 because there was not other kits available at the time, I'm not sure if they actually make the correct bulb to fit the weird 9012 but I had to slightly cut parts of the socket to make the bulb fit....if it does fit perfectly for your kit then it's like what J say....it's got to be the seal....I couldn't get rid of the fog problem and it was really bothering me so I just ended up buying some used OEM headlights w/ HID on ebay. I really liked the 8000K I had on the kit but I'll live with the stock 4300K just so I wouldn't have anyone mistaken my headlight as a fish tank....
Hair dryer in one hole, open another to let the moist air out.
Alternatives include putting in a silica gel pack to absorb moisture.
I found that after I did my HID upgrade I had fog for a couple weeks, but it went away eventually. Only returned when I pressure washed the engine bay. Disappeared after a good couple days in the sun.

my brother had the same problem. he bought a whole new headlamp but when we took off the old one.. we noticed the bottom part of the cover wasnt complete on.. so over time it got fogged up.. but havnt really heard of it instantly doin it.. but u neva knw wit otha places n the humidity ther
Ya the lenses are still fogged... I'm thinking it could have been when I had to drill a hole to run the wire through the plastic... But i used silicone and tape to cover up the hole. a friend said that I should have left the lights installed for a few hours before turning them on. Not sure about that
