Installing A Rear View Camera Question
Installing A Rear View Camera Question
Ok I Have An Avic-n3 And I Ordered A Rear View Camera For It, But I Have One Problem.... Does Any One Know Exactly What Wire Of How To Tap Into The Reverse Cable Wire Or Any Other Way For The Head Unit To Realize Im In Reverse And For It To Switch To The Camera View Instantly.??? If Any One One Knows Let Me Know Please... Your Time Would Be Greatly Apreciated!!!
i went through the same thing. on your unit there should be an option somewhere along the lines of Rear Cam Interruption on/off, that's for it to react to the camera powering on when you go into reverse. now for how to do it, this is how i did it.
when you go on reverse, your reverse lights go on, so i figured i'd tap into that. remove the rear carpeting on the driver side of the trunk until you see the cable harness that goes into the taillight. then having all the lights off, put the car on reverse (e. brake on please!) so that only your reverse light is on. Use a continuity tester to find the cable that has the power, which i i think is a white and green cable. once you find it, splice the camera's cable into it, tape it up and that's it. it works great for me at least

Ok... sound good.... but let me ask you... can you watch your camera while driving??
Thanks guy.. I installed it today... I tapped into constant Power and grounded it... My navi "N3" Automatically goes into camera mode when i turn on my car.. other than that it can share a screen with the Navi Map.... So it will be on constantly until I turn off my car... its not bad... Thanks for that Write up Trojan Nemo it helped me in my installation...
