Thx for the answer. I have just few quick questions for you and i hope you'll be patient with me

1. I've got the Metra dash kit from Ebay and it came with wire harness + antenna adapter. So the question is - do i need to get some other harness/connectors or the ones i have are enough? I'm confused, since searched the org and found out that the bose speakers runs at other OHMs... and their wires should be spliced or so....!?

2. Same question about the Bose amplifier. If i want to keep it, do i have to make some modifications....?

3. I've seen one here that some 6th geners replace/relocate the OEM info screen with the Nesa NSX 7" TFT widescreen... Should i go with Nesa as well? Is this monitor good quality? Any fitting issues? Or should i get another brand widescreen...?

Any help would be much appreciated from anyone!!! Please note that i'm located in Europe and almost noone on here have had experience with Bose units nor with the US spec Maximas.

to the moderators: if you think my post doesn't belong to here, please move it or delete it.

Thank You!

Does anyone know if it's possible to disconnect and remove the tape player? Will the stereo still function without it? The reason I ask is because I was thinking of taking it out and installing a DVD play in it's place (enlarging the DIN opening to accomidate it of course). I've done lots of custom stereo installs but haven't got a chance to take my new max(new to me at least) appart yet.

Who uses cassette tapes anymore? I don't understand why Nissan put them in the Max...

What if someone made a pocket that could be installed in place of the stock radio controls? How many of you would but it?

Hey Fastmax05, great mod and even better you did it yourself. I am looking at doing the same thing now since my warranty is gone. Thanks for the pics, and remember, some people will always hate mods......my point is if they have a comment like "I don't like it", no problem, but when the people just go on and on, not worth your time. Looks great, you put some good "SELF WORK" into it, that is the best part. For everyone else, OK, you do not see the point, not thank you, drive through to another post.

Is there no way to get rid of the stock display screen and replace it with a single universal monitor that will display GPS navigation, backup camera, DVD, as well as the stuff that used to be displayed in the stock display (like temperature, song #, mileage, average speed, DTE, which door is open, etc.)?

Guys, I've been thinking about this lately, please let me know if anyone else has done this or has pics. I have a 2006 maxima with DVD (non-nav) and cassette deck. I'm considering installing a motorized 6.5 or 7" LCD (cutting out the cassette and center console where it previously sat and installing the 1DIN unit there), and installing one of the car PC's from MCS. Something fairly price conservative like this http://store.mo-co-so.com/complete-c...43a34d695258f9

The cool thing about a setup like this is I can keep my stock cd player, steering wheel controls, satellite etc. And install one of the auxillary input kids (say from active tuning) which will let me do many things, play movies, play an entire library of MP3's, hookup GPS etc. then also retract the screen when I wasn't using it.

I'm just assuming there is enough room behind where the cassette deck is to install a 1DIN unit, and would get the center piece professionally cut to install the unit, it should look pretty decent. And like you bb, I like where my current stock display screen is and don't like the relocation to the bottom at all. Just a personal pref is all.

That would be cool. But won't you need to change the head unit? Isn't that a major problem, especially if you have Bose?

No, you simply hook audio out from the PC to the auxillary input (much like you would an ipod etc..) Then you have 2 stereo's in essence, all stock as it was, then a 2nd unit to use for MP3's, watching movies etc.. And don't forget, that monitor is touch screen so use is very friendly.
