Washing Car = Bad Luck 4 Me

It is dam near impossible to keep my car clean for more than 5 days. Some shiiit always gets my car dirty...... WTF!

I am very clean when it comes to my car. Some of the guys I met here from the org can vouch for me when it comes to clean rides...

However, some dont know that i wash my car ever week. Not cause im board or hate small amounts of dust. But because something always happens. I do my best to avoid water spots on the road, rain, bird crap, dirt devils and so on....

But it never fails....

For example, Last sunday i washed and beautified my max... Monday, a construction water truck was watering the ground near my home. I was unable to do a detour do to construction, so i had to drive through small amounts of water... SPLASHED MY DOORS AND FRONT BUMPER... WTF!

went home and used a damp microfiber towl = ALL CLEAN!

Another example - wednesday, when i arrived home, i noticed strings of gum on the left side of the car. Apparently i ran over some gum and it managed to get all over the side of the car... WTF

Other days, its Bird Diarrhea or some a-hole using his windshield wash on the side or front of me and ends up splashing my car...

So in conclusion.... i hate washing my car now... thanks for reading!

Is your car in a covered garage? I can go for a couple of weeks w/ no wash, and still looks clean.

Yes, I keep it in the garage. Obviously helps out a lot but I have always thought of white as an easy color to keep looking clean.

I thought silver is easier to keep clean since it hides stains and scratches better.

Silver, white, champaign mist, and coral sand don't show dirt as easily as darker colors. The black and navy are almost impossible to keep clean, as everything shows up against a dark background.

I wash my car once a week maybe twice if conditions call for it. I dust the car very day. Alot of construction going on in my area.

I have a black Maxima which is the WORST car for showing dirt. Also, I dont have space in my garage for it so it stays outside. There are a few things you can do to minimize the dirt.

First, clay your car. You use a special clay you rub on your car while wasking it, and it makes it really really smooth. When you get it, follow the directions on the box and if you drop the clay on the ground, u have to buy a new piece.

Second, use Zymoil to wax your car. Amazing product that I got from Target for $15.

Finally, get a really good car cover.

Claying and using Zymoil helps keep dirt from sticking. The cover is a barrier so during the day or overnight, you wont get dirt on it.

All three of my cars are garaged and I wash all three of them every weekend (mustang is a garage queen so sometimes it's every two weeks for it.) I do a step process every three months to all of them.

Detailing is one of those things that just calmns me down. Even if it's going to rain all week I still wash them to prevent any kind of build up of bugs, bird poo and worst of all water spots (got to love summer.) At least the interior stays nice looking during the rainy days.

I'm about to go wash the stang and M right now, it's suppose to rain later today and all of next week

it seems to get dirty only when i drive it.... unless it rains, which it has done in the past... right after i wash it, the next day it rains.... WTF.....

I also dust my car off everyday. i use the Original California Duster.

Because of the color of my Max, it takes me 4 hours to wash and dry including tire cleaning.

another 1.5 hours to clean the inside including leather seats.

It's nice to have a clean ride. I have Maxi detailed twice a year and I do my best to keep up her maintenance. However, I cannot control arsholes that throw drinks out of moving vehicles, birds that want to defocate on my ride or the occasional rain storm. Add that to the fact that I live in NY and, I am the reason the guy who owns the local hand wash drives a Porsche and lives on 6 acres of land in one of the 10 richest places in America.

LOL, this always happens to me. Its almost as if the more care & effort you put into keeping your ride clean, the more dirt, bird crap,etc..... miraculously find a way to get on it.

Me too Its because it appears as if Nissan used the cheapest paint they could find. My car is black & there are new scratches that appear every week. Its so easy to put a mark on it, I'm afraid to even lean on my car.

My solution is ScratchX from Meguiar's, I do find the occasional scratch or swirl mark when washing my car, but this product saves me the headaches...I used to complain every time I washed my car. Now I don't complain, I use ScratchX and that's it, no more whining from my part... I've to admit it bothers me for about 5 minutes before I use the product...

YOU Have OCD.

Talk to a local shrink and get this issue resolved, its not the dirt that causing you to obsess over your car its the faulty wiring in your brain.

haha. Should have bought a silver one. Its amazing how clean the car always looks. The only thing thats shows that its filthy are the windows. I wash it whenever I have the time on a Saturday (not much lately). I hate to take it to the car wash because these idiots just plain don't care and they can't even get it clean.

Both cars look great VQPRO.

Yeah darkblue is a tough color to keep clean looking. Like black it shows any swirls or scratches. But when it's clean it's CLEAN!

Just like beautiful women. Ya just have to work harder/higher maintenance.
Oh but don't they look gorgeous when they are dressed and cleaned up!

Perhaps you should invest in a really good car cover. Sounds like it might pay back for itself via "lost time" in a few Months.

Remember, time is money...
