True or Not about aftermarket navi

okay yesterday i went to bestbuy and i was interested in a pioneer navi system that had all the works. The deal is the sales rep asked me if my car was equipped with bose speakers and i said yea. Then he concluded telling me that it could be done but it will be a hassle plus i have to take out my bose and put in an aftermarket speaker and they have to charge me extra. is this true if you purchase aftermarket navi if you have a bose system?

Some what its true..You don't need all new speakers, just some converter because the bose speakers work on like a different ohm or something..All I know is they work on some different speaker thing, so you just need a converter and you're set.

nah, you have to buy a converter from what I understand..People have done this before, I'm sure someone will come along and give you the details, since I don't know them for sure..sorry.

you just need a digital converter to convr your speaker outputs from the new headunit to low levels. It can be done by spilicing in as i have done this on gen3's . i have done one 6th gen like this and sounded good.

Check Crutchfield.com. They are pretty good about telling what you will need to get it going.
