Short ram Intake... NEED HElP
Short ram Intake... NEED HElP
I am trying to buy a decent short ram Intake for my car. Anyone knows where is the best place to get it from? i am looking around $60-$75. this is the only one that I can find, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...spagenameZWDVW , any suggestions helps. thank you
I like the stillen one. http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...N&model=MAXIMA Its the second one that is the short ram one. I am thinking about getting this one.
Who said anything about cold air?
You wont kill the engine via H2O unless you drive through 3-4 feet of standing water. And if you do that, then you deserve a dead engine.

I designed and built a barrier - look next to the battery - so that hot air stays away from the air filter. I also opened up the factory intake scoop to allow more cold air into that area of the air filter.

Same here, when I go to the BerkTechnology website to look at intakes, I click on maxima parts or I click on intakes but nothing shows up, its just a blank page with no products to view.
Dont go for that cheap stuff on Ebay. I was about to buy one, but the guys from here convinced me to get a cold air. I end up getting a Nismo and so far I love it. It rains a lot in Houston and sometimes it gets flooded, but like the guys say there is nothing to worry about unless you drive over huge puddles. I went for the Nismo since it has the by pass filter just in case.
My daughter went through a puddle in her Celica which has a CAI on it, but the splash shield has torn off the night before. The engine died but started right back up. When I checked the car out, the air filter was wet. Of course I bought a splash shield so things should be fine now.

I think this is a good short ram intake. I had one of these Jim Wolf ones on my old 95 maxima and the thing freakin ROARED

allright here is my thought on the idea. I had a short ram originally and then added a few pieces to make it a cold air. I love the cold air. I am in Washington State rain capital of the US and I have never had a problem with it. It sounds mean as hell. I did somthing similar to chern and built my own with parts from Autozone and Schucks. <==sp. anyways they carry Spectre Performance parts to make your own intake. You can pretty much make an intake out of any piping and filter adapter you want. I chose spectra because it sounds mean as hell and allways turns heads. Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for. First two pictures are of my 1998 Expedition and the other three are of my maxima.
and this is of the maxima

I think I am just gonna go ahead and buy the Stillen short ram intake. Easy to switch back to stock if I need warranty work done.
