I think that was already discussed before.

My opinion is that if that "condom" gets wet, then it will act as a wet sponge that holds the water and just waits for the intake to suck it in. And it also acts as a slight barrier for performance gains, since it's holding back the air a little bit

u pretty much have to be submerged and revving hard to worry about damage. more likely normal intakes get some moisture sucked in from grille during rain than a CAI.

just avoid lakes.

Unless you get the "rough rider" then you don't have to worry about performance. I'll personally leave it "bare"

I have had my injen on for a long time went thru car washes and heavy rain and have had no problems. I think that the shield will block air from going into the filter.

Same like my bro Warren, Had an Injen for over 3 years and now Fujita, still zero issues...

Just don't drive your car like a Submarine Commander and you'll be fine...

submerge is probably the only way, or close. if you're slammed and have a cai, you might have to worry in the event that you accidently run through a puddle that is deeper than you thought. happened to a buddy of mine and his idle went crazy. a wai or short ram should have no problem ever as far as hydrolock.

it is okay for water to enter your engine, it just can't be an enormous amount at any given time. to clean throttle body's on 01 and older, you have to spray inside the throttle to clean it without damaging a thing.
