Everyone here must be tasteless and nuts. That wheel looks awful. And 700$ and all the pain for that?? GJ on the work done, you have some skill to replace that, but next time buy some leather and stitch wrap your wheel for 50 bucks. My wheel looks 10 times better.
So your airbags dont work now?

I'm with you cool, that's pretty harsh talk for a n00b. Personally I think that wheel is SICK Deusman. Again I couldn't give up my amenities, radio controls etc. but it's a gorgeous wheel. And best of all, I bet your the only one around with that baby on and who doesn't like to be different?

Yeah you can tell its a Momo - great quality, great feel, nice and tight. I was driving it for a bit and you can feel the road better. It weighs one pound less than stock, about 15% (7.5 lbs versus 6.5 lbs), so the power steering cranks it around easier. It has this thicker part at the bottom so when ur cruising u hold on to it. Its pretty neat.

I have been driving the car for a few days with the new wheel. Steering response is better due to the lighter steering wheel. The quality of teh steering wheel is VERY obvious. Much tighter feel and better thicker leather. You feel the road better too. There is this thick part at the bottom of the wheel that is perfect when you go on longer drives. Ill be using that all the way to the SEMA show next week.
Lookin forward to my seats comin in tomrrow or friday.

Deus, I really want to try this on a 5.5 gen. Do you think there would be much difference in doing that swap? Could you also take a picture from the side of the wheel so we could see the thickness? The steering wheel mounted controls are kinda separate from the wheel on the 5.5 gen so maybe those could be disconnected, and rerouted like a wired remote? Also interested in those Evo leather seats, sorry to copy you, but seems like the perfect combo.

zerotosixty: I bet it would swap on ur 5.5 gen. Ill get u pics later this week. The wheel is a great piece and Im pleased I got it. What do u mean by thickness? Rim thickness or thickness in the center part? I agree, the steering wheel and seats really are a great combo, especially now that Ive driven it a bit. Ill be really trying it out tomorrow as I drive to Vegas (250 miles) for SEMA

Don't be so modest, IMHO a fully retrofitted interior is on the same level of high end engine work. Both require custom work ,both are relatively spendy and both are relatively exclusive.
