Installed RotorPros, need a lil help!

All rotors are on, look and perform great.. but.. there's a scratching noise coming from the rears. I can't tell if it's the metal plate in back (i didnt bang it up or bend it at all to my knowledge) or if it's the actual brake pads (I didn't replace them) but it's definitely annoying.. any thoughts on this ?

I got a similiar noise in my rears after I did a 4 wheel brake job (drilled and slotted rotors and pads)about a month ago but it went away in a couple of days. I adivse you to wait a little and if it doesn't go away pull the wheel and inspect.

When i changed the rotors on my old car i was told that it is best to change the brake pads becuase they already "formed" to the old rotor. So when you put new rotors on it takes a while for the actual brake pad to even back out with the new "flat" rotor. Just what i was told by a mechanic in the family.

Sounds good guys. I suppose i'll wait about a week, if it doesn't stop i'll have to inspect. I really suspect the metal plate behind the rotor for this noise but we'll see..

Thanks for the help.

I would've recommended new pads with the new rotors. And definitely get ceramic pads for better braking and less brake dust.

I don't know. If something is not seated right, you can warp/ruin your rotors. I ruined one of mine because the brake pad somehow got in crooked. The longer the rotor is exposed to a problem like that, the higher chance you are going to have to ruining it. I'd seriously consider reseating all the pad on that rotor just to make sure its all in there correctly.

ceramics not needed for daily driver. get the extended life semi metalic as they are also easier on the rotor life.

I tried semi-metallic but went back to ceramic. OEM is ceramic. I always get new pads with new rotors.

After each rear rotor was back on, did you rotate them? Did you adjust the parking brake too tight or rust get trapped in the inner drum?

Break-in is called 'burnishing' in the shop manual.

I have Posi-Quiet ceramic pads but I've heard really good things about HAWK Ceramic pads. I'll probably go with those next time around.

I have the posiquiets metallic extended wear. Dont mind changing pads to keep the rotors lasting longer. Rotorpros guy recommended these and I have been happy thus far. Ypu are going to get dust no matter what pad you get.

True but man, I have I'd say 70% less brake dust than with my stock pad. And it's not that super nasty BLACK dust as it was with stock as well. Ceramics are one of those upgrades that's worth it IMHO if you like to take good care of your ride.

Never knew I was supposed to change the pads with new rotors. I changed both front and rear rotors and still have factory pads.

Zero dust huh? Interesting...quite a pad you got there. Does it ever wear down, and if so where is it going? It may not stick to your wheels, which is great. I get mild dust on my nismos, but they are smoked wheels

I put AutoZone ceraminc pads on my wifes Benz and they have 75% less dust and out performs the OEM Mercedes Pads. Once I change my rotors next month on the Max, it's ceramics for me all the way round..

I hate it when the wife gets the benz. Im sure the autozone pads were 75% cheaper as well. Glad you like them. Not trying to be sarcastic

These are not standard equipment. You've posted replacement pads. Show me any Nissan off the lot that comes standard with ceramic brake pads. Here I'll save you the trouble, they do not. You've posted aftermarket parts. "CERAMIC RECOMMENDED DUE TO ORIG EQUIP BRAKE PARAMETERS " I'd recommend ceramics if I were in brake sales too as they are a buttload more expensive! LOL.
