I think that manual may be a little more expensive because they have to install some sort of extra? bi-pass switch, but it shouldn't cost more than like $200-$400 depending on what you get.

What did you buy and where did you get it from? The dealer? Is there an aftermarket kit?

Any alarm place should be able to install it. For automatics a stand alone unit should not cost more than $200. I paid $160 for mine as far as I remember.

For manual trannies there is the liability issue and most places will refuse to install it. I am not sure if bypass can be installed thou so you'd have to ask around.

Buy from ebay if you dont want a warranty. No place I know of that installs an alarm you did not purchaase from them will honor any warranty. So the ebay seller you buy from better have a warranty in detail. Although I'd advise against buying an alarm from ebay all together. Also if you are getting the Viper 791XV or any viper for that matter they come with a lifetime warranty from any authorized viper dealer.

Any good alarm with a pager system and remote start will cost you around $400 installed depending on the model etc. I paid Sound Advice almost $600 to install my old viper alarm with a pager and remote start etc.

find out the unit hes installing then look it up and compare labor vs materials...

Alarm with a pager system and remote start -$400 yes, easily.

Remote starter only, I wouldn't shell out more then $200.00. I mean if it rolls the windows up (all 4) and your sunroof or folds your mirrors then yes with all the modules you are looking at something close to $400.00

Mine works with OEM remote, I press LOCK 3 times and it starts. Range is obviously shorter then with the pager type remotes but it has been enough for me.

Oh god I would never spend anything over 200 for just a remote start module... its just not worth the money... If i still lived up north I suppose it would be during winter but it was just for show most of the time I had it lol

Has anyone been able to install it on their 07 as when i used to work for best buy, I asked the Car - Fi installers and they said it was a very complicated process and they doubt they'd be able to do it. Well, we have the keyless ignition system but still, can anyone chime in? I'm happy with the alarm for now as I live in a safe neighborhood with underground parking but I'd surely be interested in a Remote Starter for the winter.

It can be done and shouldn't be difficult.

Circuitcity just a remote starter $224 . They ask you sign a waiver for 6sp manual . This protects them if you start your car while in gear.

Just make sure you get it installed at a reputable place that knows what they're doing. I paid $600 for the Viper 791XV installed (yeah i know i got ripped, but wife used the car that day to surprise me for my birthday). But the guy never did a maxima before, now my memory seats dont work and that cool feature that lets u get out of the car easier by moving steering wheel/seat is all jacked up. I should have went to bestbuy or something. Other than that, the Viper 791XV is nice, it has great range too.

Man, I have the Viper 791XV as well and my memory seats and driver entry/exit feature still work. They must have crossed some wires.

the only difference when u install a alarm system with auto start on a manual care is that u have to make sure the neutral safety wire is hooked up.. i kno alot of ppl keep there care in 1stgear when you park and just pull the ebreak so make make sure you dont. the install is no different then an auto .. should be a straight up install.
