Nissan canada said that it,s a goodyear thing, so I called goodyear, and they said the recall ended on dec 31 07. So it's over.

They told me I could call the dealership that sold me the car because they sold me a car with defective tires.

What would you do?

Press them !! Tell them that it's leaking air and you're afraid for the safety of your kids. That usually gets the job done. It's a Goodyear thing and they need to honor their crappy tires.

I'll call the guy that sold me the car tonight to see what he has to say.

Basically, goodyear did the recall... so they are not to blame. I think the nissan dealer is to blame for selling me a car and telling me these were replaced with the recall. Then I realized they were not, he said dont worry they are allright or else we would not sell the car with these on.

Then I find out they are the # on the recall and one is cracked.

2 inches crack, nothing huge, I havent seen the interor because they are on the mags.

I'll see what he tells me.... the lady at goodyear said that all they could do is replace the cracked one with threadwear %..... which is not really good.

I'll call the dealership tonight and see what they can do about it. If not ill call nissan canada I guess.

did you look at the Sticky and other threads? You have to call Goodyear and tell them about the crack. That you don't feel safe and know about others with this problem. I got mine replace way before the recall. But if your numbers don't match the recall, you are only going to get the one replaced and it might be prorated.

I do believe you had to have done it by the end of last year. I just printed out the recall that someone scanned on here and took it to my local goodyear dealer. Do a search there were several threads on this.

The recall ended dec 31, so they wont replace them for free, but the local goodyear shop is willing to look into it and do something, like remplace them all and prorate the used ones.

There are 2 new and 3 50%, but all the DOTS match. all 0104.
One on 3 is cracked on the exterior, but I havent seen the interior yet. I have an apointment at the goodyear garage tomorrow at 8:30 AM.

I'll tell you then. I'll prolly pay a couple hundred bucks and then I'll bill the dealership for selling me car with defective tires.

i got my refund ... i changed 3 of my tires nov 2006, and then bought three more GY RSA and used my full size spare for replacemetn. (changed them at abt 75K km). Got the letter in Jun. (you have to have this letter to your name!! for the recall)..
When i called GY .. they told me i would have to prove I changed my tires coz of the crack... (something i could not do).. so i went to my GY dealer and gave my best (pls. help me) to the lady...(toronto - morningside GY - ask me if u need the name).. lucky for me I was using my orig. spare (it got cracks with less than 10 K on it)....so thats how GY accepted my other tires (+ i got a nice lady at GY call center - her name is MARY... dont speak with anyone else!!) --she is the only one who could help u get a refund!! (if they accept it anymore..)

I got refund for three ($1128CAD) + two new GY RSA's (my old spare{10K} and one used{75K})

Ok went this morning. The recall is over and they really wont cooperate, really.

I went to the shop and they agreed to change the 3 cracked ones but I had to pay the % of use.... And they dont change the tires that are not cracked, even if they have the recall DOT number.

So I had 2 tires at 50% and one at 25% rebate. The other one is already new because it had a flat (but DIN# of the recall, and spare also din# of the recall).

They will not change them unless there are cracks. Basically, I have 5 new tires, but one is going to crack. As soon as it gets cracks, I'm going back to goodyear to have it replaced, with the least use possible so I dont pay much. And bah, I dont care about the spare.

Anyways, I have faxed the bill to the dealership and he told me hes going to talk to his boss and call me later.

Badyear is more like it. They send out these letters stating defective tires and rebates, and then when I send them the info, they tell me,because I change the tires( like I had a choice). I had to show proof from the place where I purchased them, that the cracks were the reason I had changed the tires the problem is they cloesd down a year prior. So basically they told me I was out of luck and they would not be reimbursing me. The typical BIG guy screwing the little out of $ once again.
