didnt have opportunity to hear it as the jig had to be cut up for pre-production.

but nismo sounds nice, a tad quiet but nice.

NISMO IS ON

The system is on and i like it, but more importantly...my wife likes it and the sound....it took me and my 13 yo son about 2hrs to take the cattman off and put the nismo on........I am glad i put the sytem on myself because i found that the dealership did no put the nuts on one of the conections of the cattman y-pipe....so put 2 on that i had laying around....and i will be contacting the folks at my nissan dealership on monday......

Hey Jeff. Could you post some pictures of your car? I just ordered the exhaust for my 2007 Maxima. Was it a perfect fit?

installed my nismo yesterday

it took me about 2 hours to do everything myself. i backed up onto some ramps and lifted the passenger side up just enough to get under and access the bolts to the y-pipe.

all in all i was satisfied with the final product. it was a little louder than i expected. also, the passenger side muffler hangs about 1/2 an inch lower than the driver side muffler. i may take it to a muffler shop later down the road and have them adjust it or just bend the hanger myself.

also, does anyone think that the mufflers sit a little far in? i was thinking of getting a spacer for the resonator piping (probably a 3/8" to 1/2" flange) to extend the piping back about a 1/2". it looks like there is enough allowance on the hangers to move the mufflers back a bit.

My tech balanced out the mufflers just by loosening the exhaust then tightening up the different sections a little at a time until they were even. A muffler shop should be able to that for you easily.

I think the pipes could afford to stick out a little further, maybe 1in more in length. You are right the hangers will allow only so much adjustment. Post some pic and tell us how you fix it.

Lift the muffler and put a wedge (rubber hose, wood, etc) where the hanger is. most are like this unfortunately.

I was able to get 3 more of these systems. There are only three left and after that they will be gone forever. We reduced the price to $579.99 + S/H.

You can order online here. Make sure to select the SE-R Altima version!!!

I can't wait to get it!! At that price, I could not pass it up. I have been looking at exhaust for the car for 3 or 4 days trying to find the right one. I was down to 2. Berk won out on price, looks, and sound.

Thanks again, Bryan!

My dad took my car for a drive........... as sad as it was to see my car drive away without me, i friggin loved the sound.

Today on the way home, a guy was behind me in a Red Track 350z and when the highway merges he cought up to me and pointed at his ear and then made the thumbs up sign. LOVE IT.

Has anyone ever tried >>>>>>>>>> Deleting the big muffler in the middle and just running the two resonators on a stock system? If so, what does it sound like, does it throw any codes???

Do you mean delete the resonator and run just the two mufflers? I think someone did and it was too loud.

Yes it will fit your 2005 Maxima, however, they are sold out. I received mine in the mail today via UPS and will be installing on Weds.

Yeah, I believe it's okay for the 06 as well.

What website? Can you post the link?...I'm pretty sure others on this board would love to purchase one if they could.

It will fit BUT you will need to have the b-pipe extended: http://www.6thgenmaxima.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5137

04-06 all the same. Same stock exhaust same Nismo all need the same (about) 1in extension.

Now I am talking auto, someone else will have to say if for some reason stick is different. Someone can also say if this works on the 07-08.

Nice. Looking for an exhaust for my 05 Max. Something a little louder than stock but still has that deep evil tone. Don't wanna sound like the usual Civics running around my hometown. (weedeaters on crack) Any suggestions
