This may be a bit pre-mature, but . . . .What parts do you think will swap to the 6th Gen Maximas and what parts would you like on your car, when they are avialable?

I have my eye on the steering wheel, and the SV rims look like SE-R rims. I see that the seats and steering wheel have red stitching, like my JDM factory 350Z steering wheel. Pretty cool, but I love my Recaro seats. I bet the rear brakes are a direct swap as well.

Yeah, probably a bit premature unless a Nissan engineer cares to chime in.

Eh,
I guess I'd settle to swap out just the stuff that's attached to the frame (and anything touching those items)

wink wink.

Those SE-R Looking rims do you think those are 18's or 19's?

well it was media day at the auto show today and i saw pics of the 2009 max and let me tell you it's one hot car inside and outside. my coworker attended and took some nice pics of it.he's suppose to email them to me. As for swaping stuff to our 6th gen from the looks of the car i dont think many, if anything can be swaped. I hoping to attend the show myself. Car is really lovely

Well, I wouldnt mind the rims for street rims. Also, although I love my steering wheel, the 09 is smaller, has red stitching and has all the controls. Its not a definite, but its something I'd consider.

well listen deus...if anything...i just went to the NYC auto show and talked to some of the maxima reps...and saw the engine block...they said that its basically the same as the current VQ35 plant...and i looked it over it really does if anything it kinda looks like the new altima engines...and those plants are producing 290 HP by 263 lbs-torq. should work nasty with a 6 speed...

Im sure there will be a wrecked one before ya know it. Just is a question of whether or not i wanna swap a motor for only 25 horsepower more

true buh you more of a concern with the fact that those new VQs only take CVTs now...and CVT trannys are quiet larger than standard Manual and Automatics...lolxz so i don't know if you can even bolt on ur 6-speed with it properly...

buh 25hp maybe about 10+HPs to the tires legit...its not that bad.

The 7th gen exhaust contribute to some increase; plus the engine may be too tall.

evo parts in maxima = downgrade

6th gen and 7th gen are boats so the anchors will fit lol

sad to know the brakes and suspension stayed the same and the car got bigger and heavier

ohh and nissan always lies about their hp rating.

Actually its 25. 290 - 265 = 25hp last I checked unless the ratings are different?

Not true, unless you consider leather Recaros a downgrade, which I DON'T. Also unless you consider a carbon fiber handbrake handle and weighted aluminum shift **** with CF insert a downgrade too, which I DON'T.

Oh, and even though my steering wheel is from a JDM 350Z, its made by MOMO and looks a lot like the Evo steering wheel. That is also NOT a downgrade, I assure you, lol.

i think the side view mirrors are the only good thing from the 09 max.....

just curious does the 09 max vq engine have dual intake or not? if it isn't they should have

The specs of the 09 Maxima states (http://nissan.iconicweb.com/assets/s...ications.pdf):

"New Nissan “D platform” with enhanced body rigidity for
responsive handling with virtually no torque steer; body rigidity
increased by 15 percent, front strut mounting rigidity increased
100 percent through all-new structures added to the engine
compartment, reinforcement of the instrument panel structure;
Sport/Premium Packages feature a panel behind the rear seat
that improves torsional rigidity by 17 percent."

I think the "all-new structures added to the engine compartment" and the "panel behind the rear seat that improves torsional rigidity" might be usable in the 6th gen Max.

Good point. There is that company that makes that underbacing that helps with torsional rigidity. I was going to have a harness bar installed which would do that same thing and have a place for my harness:

All that means is that the D platform is a revision of FA platform; slightly shorter wheel base and wider tracks, but more importantly, revised engine bay to drop the engine and trany lower.

Vented rear brakes are a nice upgrade. I'm sure it's the same as the Z, as some folks here already have them.
