LED's in Door Handles

I did the first door handle today, just to try it and see what everyone thinks. I wired the LED to the wiring for the courtesy lights so they only light while the doors are open and when the unlock button is activated on the remote. This is one 13,000 mcd dome LED.

Install instructions have been posted.

I removed the handle and drilled a hole to the hinge side of the handle so the led would shine towards the other end of the handle and illuminate the dished area. I will post pictures of the install when I do the other doors.

I went with blue lights inside, did the led conversion myself and put in the blue LED's in the floor and courtesy lights. Thought I would keep it matching.

How would you rate this mod in terms of difficulty and time to finish? Any special tools needed?

I vote for a STICKY on this one. I may not attempt this mod but it is one that will be on the back burner. Wildman, can you also figure out a way to get the power folding mirrors to open and close? To close when the the car is locked and alarmed and open when unlocked with the key fob? To have that going on with the lights turning on and off would be super pimp.

Regarding the mirrors folding in +1 Good call. I fold mine in everytime I go somewhere other than my house.

I did a write-up last night and after hours of editing pictures and compiling information, THE COMPUTER CRASHED. I will do a video this weekend and post for everyone. It would be easier than doing pictures. Thanks for all the response.
