awesome write-up!! ever consider shining the LED's down like on newer BMW's. I love how the BMW door handles illuminate the ground when the door is unlocked.

Damn, you make it look so easy!!!

I think rather than adding them pointing down from the door handles, it might be easier/cleaner to add some pointing down from the side view mirrors....just a thought!

Stick this thing!!

Anyways -- Wildman - AWESOME job man - I was looking for the Ebay guy you bought the LEDs from and he doesn't seem to sell them in whites, so I am gonna have to buy the LEDs from somebody else. I am planning to "attempt" to do this mod when installing the tails... so pray for my whip and be on standby for Customer Support please....LOL

KC - great idea - (seriously)! And I think you're right - red will probably look better. The only thing is I will have to change my led plate bulb from white to red, but thats no biggie.

To the guys in the South FL area, anybody wanna get together to do this mod on yours and my whip?

I vote for a STICKY on this one. I may not attempt this mod but it is one that will be on the back burner. Wildman, can you also figure out a way to get the power folding mirrors to open and close? To close when the the car is locked and alarmed and open when unlocked with the key fob? To have that going on with the lights turning on and off would be super pimp.
I do not have the power folding mirrors on mine but I will check and see what I can do. It is possible. Anything is possible with enough effort and money.

I don' thave the folding mirrors on my model but if it were easy enough (and not that expensive) to add I'd love to put them on. I'd want them to open and close when the the car is locked and alarmed and open when unlocked with the key fob.. I wouldn't want to have to do it manually with a dashboard switch...

while you have the door apart I highly recommend upgrading the interior door handles. I did these a while back and posted the upgrades on gec's dub prep page. here is the link for those interested. post is about half way down. one thing to keep in mind is be careful when drilling. don't want to break the handle. not that they are real flimsy, just that I got into a hurry and well had to redue one of them. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....de+leds&page=2 any questions let me know.

Have you guys noticed how long the mirror motor runs?

I dont think the courtesy lights would push it.

I see fuse problems.

Wildman, have you posted pics of your wheels or new brake setup yet?

Im curious how the wheels look in the daylight.

Not yet, I am working on repainting the brakes right now and will be getting pictures up of the wheels and brakes later this week. I wanted to see what everyone thought of the wheels, I just painted the factory 17"(that sucks but that was what was on it when I purchased)wheels black on top of the spokes and left the inside edges silver.
If I can get the mirrors to work they will have to be connected to a seperate receiver and power source if they take a long time fold. Just a thought as of now, have to do more research.

And Wildman - while you're at it, if you could find a way for us that don't have the mirror folding feature to have one of these motors installed, I would love you

I'll be doing it soon. I just got my show truck back so I gotta build up the funds again. I will be going with white also and since the door panels will be off, I am going to swap out the black suede / velvet material to a burgandy wine color type of material.

They are holding up great, not one problem. I am also thinking about going back and installing some superbright white LED's in the bottom of the mirrors facing down to light up the ground area. I will also be adding lighting under the hood since we have no hood lights on our max's.
I have still not finished my brakes yet and have been very busy with our Cherokee tribe pow-wow and alot of Boyscout outings for the spring. Will get pictures up after this weekend.
