LED's in Door Handles
#123
Yea this draws off BMW, my fathers car has the lights aimed at the ground and they are a blue-ish white. I love the look. I may do this I am still very newbie to wiring electronics and where to find the wires to tap power for.. even for my footwell LED mods I am still confused on where to get power like what wire to look for (not trying to threadjack)
The mod looks great though! Good job

OMG absolutely sick man! That looks so good i think i will start mine as soon as possible. Can you be a little more specific on which wires to tap from the door harness? I have an 04 SE so im assuming it would be the red and white wires like yours. Wow hope you dont mind when everyone comes through with light up handles...LOL
Really man great job you deserve all the props in the world.

It would be illegal if it was blue, red, or green color. Pointless if on at night while driving. I have had mine in for what seems like a year now and no problems yet. I still get compliments about them. I will be posting night time pics up soon with these glowing.

When would anyone ever see them though if they were only on for a few seconds at a time? When do yours come on? Like flicker when you lock or unlock the car?

they come on when I unlock the door or open the door. They turn off when I lock the door and when the car is started. So yea basically a few seconds

ok, so read through the entire thread and just looking for some advice on people who have actually done this...
i ran across this thread and granted it's a completely different car, thought it was interesting and this guy did a great job as well, used some different
LED's too.
now to my questions....to those who have done this, is there enough room/space in the lock assembly? it's hard to tell with pictures being all zoomed in, and what not. me personally i would rather put it in the lock assembly and have it pointed down, more functional for me that way, but i don't want to get all the way to taking it all apart just to realize....not gonna work. i realize that in the picture for the tunrda, it's a much bigger lock assembly, but figured i had to ask....
maxima lock assembly
toyota tundra lock assembly
if anyone can answer this you'd be doing me a huge help.
