PAC-NIS2 Installed

I installed a PAC-NIS2 adaptor along with my Sirius Sportster 5 this weekend. I chose the far right side of the dash. Keeping the display off to the side to preserve my night vision and to reduce distraction.

The PAC-NIS2 just popped right into the OEM harness. No issues there at all.

The one thing I did that I hadn't seen discussed before is to use the negative ground trigger to activate a relay to turn on/off the satellite receiver when the SAT button is pressed. I had to look around a bit to find the wiring diagram. I used a standard Bosch relay and harness, wired like the following:

Worked like a champ. I tapped into the lighter circuit. Pink wire is +, black wire is ground.

Lots of room to hide the PAC adaptor in the dash. I used some double sided foam tape to secure it inside the dash just below the right center vent. Sorry no install pics of that. Its pretty straightforward.

Time required: 2 hours
Difficulty: 2/5

Please feel free to PM any questions if you're looking into doing the same thing. I should be able to assist you.

Re-read the first paragraph.

Keeps it out of my forward vison, reduces distraction and preserves night vision. Plus its easier to route all the cables through that dashboard area, than behind the instrument cluster.

There's a remote to change channels with anyways. Most of the time I just listen to 3-4 channels that are programmed into memory.

Yes. Popped off the trim piece with the security light, notched the bottom edge and ran the power cord down through the dash to the power point in the footwell.

Good job! I love PAC products, I use the NIS1 for my Ipod and the OEM1 (t think model) for the pre-amp wires to my subs. They make great plug and play products that make it easy to install/uninstall to go back to stock.

Seriously? You need someone to explain the benefits of a GPS vs. a paper map?
