I had that one and the Vibrant Ultra Quiet. No amount of resonators is going to solve a nasty drone I've found out. In the end its the mufflers that keep it quiet, but the resonator does help.

stock resonator is probably the best. small and compact and more restrictive usually does the trick. not exactly what you are shooting for with custom exhaust eh?

Switch resonators and gain 15hp? That does sound high.

Ill pay for your dyno time if you prove 15 hp increase from resonator and whatever muffler you want to put on.

apollos2, its going to be homemade, lol. i just want to figure everything out first. sorry about the wording, i have the CE y pipe, and exhaust is pending.

my other idea is to get one of the ebay knockoff ones for the piping already done and weld on my oem mufflers and change out the resonator.

ive been busy with finals so i havent had a chance to price up buying the mandrel bend piping from jcwhitney yet.

it wasnt too bad a couple of years ago when i did my own piping for my intercooler on my ek.

Yeah, he is trying to post from Cardomain. It's much easier to post from Photobucket. Give that a try.

EK...if it gets close to the $600 price range, you might as well go for that Nismo or Cattman catback, save yourself the hassle. Hilbe might even have a resonator or two he is trying to get rid of if you end up going homemade. I just added my Nismo exhaust and the Cattman Y, that set up totally rocks!

whoa!! it should be at MOST 1/2 of that, lol. only thing thats holding me back from the nismo one is that its single tips instead of the dual tips on each muffler.

hilbe had the cattman exhaust, right?

So I figured I would help out and post those dyno sheets for you. Notice the third run, that was (-resonator)+HKS. These sheets are no joke guys

As Apollo2 mentioned above, I have the Cattman resonator still left if you want to buy that off me. I sold my slightly modified Cattman exhaust and replaced it with the Nismo. The Cattman was too loud for my wife's taste...

I removed my resonator and kept the stock exhaust....added a custome down pipe and y pipe from the Cat to the mufflers....nice G35 coupe type sound yet quiet at idle and traffice light. Better breathing for the engine especially with a CAI and UDP.
