07 headunit

Has anyone upgraded the headunit in the 07 maxima..When you upgrade to a double din, do you also loose the AC screen? I know we loose the mpg screen ect ect, but how about AC..Has anyone figured out how we can keep those screens working? I know the screens tap into the bose unit, so its pretty weird trying to figure out how to keep them working, when the bose unit is being removed..wack nissan always making **** complicated! post some pics if you dont mind

Metra makes the kit u need to install a double DIN HU. i have the pioneer avic d3, looks awesome an no u dont lose the AC display. In my opinion though due to the fact u lose some of the little features like the timer an avg mpg gauge i would recommend getting something on the high end side to make up for it. the d3 was is perfect for me because it has the nav, the bypass is simple, u can add a rear view cam an if u tap into the VSS wire u get real time tracking an a couple other small features which more than makes up for the little things u lose. once again those just my opinion.

VSS would be the Vehicle Speed Sensor. Correct me if I am wrong. I too would love to see some pics. Sounds like a nice install.

Someone actually found a way to leave both screens working..there is enough room to stash the old bose unit behind the dash...

the VSS is the vehicle speed sensor, its located bahind the speedomete, its kind of a ppain to get off, u need a very lond extension to get to the 2 lower bolts an what it adds is real time tracking, as in if u zoom all the way to street level an watch ur marker as u travel it moves as u move in real time! it turns when u turn an so on an also if u tap the screen when the map is up a cpl option come up an one of them is a meter display, u can customize it to show u battery voltage an other thing, if the VSS is hooked up u can look at ur speed in real time an lateral acceleration an a couple other things.
