Question about air intake
yes, its called a pre-filter. A few companies use them. they do not give you the same flow, but protect it from more dirt/debris and water getting in. I have one on my dirt bike.

I go to PTuning in VA for my ride tuning and during one session walking around the shop I noticed Injen makes a Hydro shield cover for their CAI's which prevent water from going into the filter. Anyway, here's a picture...

If you say so, however to each his own. I dont think anyone has done a comparison on Fujita vs Nismo on stock, so dont think anyone can say slightly more. Nismo says 14hp gains and I know thats not right becuase Ive done bothe stock and nismo dyno and 5-7 hp at best.
Is anyone except me running the AEM? I say go with the AEM so atleast me and you can be in the same boat! lolol
The AEM is the same as the Fujita (one Piece) except it is mounted on a lower bolt that is already in place instead of next to where the stock box was. Oh and trhe filter looks slightly different! lol

I do not, just to answer your question.
I had the Fujita. I did dyno it. I had 220.3whp and 232.9 tq. The intake was all I had, performance-wise when I dynoed.
From what I had understood, we make a bit over 200 whp so if someone has an SL they can dyno with 17 wheels one it, that might give us a base to run from.
I would recommend the Fujita for a few reasons, but my specific ones are that:
1- If bought from RideTuner, the money supports a 6thgen website. (6thgenmaxima.org) for reference sake.
2. It pours here and I never had an issue with hydrolock. Your car is a car, not a pontoon boat and as long as your remember that, you will be good to go.
3. The looks and sound are out of this world.
4. Your warranty isn't any different than if you went with Nismo. Fujita stands behind their products. I'm not bagging on Nismo, merely noticing that folks are getting them based on this warranty idea.
5. Did I mention that buying from RideTuner supports a 6th gen site? RideTuner has an incredible reputation. Read his feedback.

Help me out here, I took my berk intake out and put the OE back in. The car feels faster and the throttle is more responsive. I checked with a mechanic friend and he told me that might be possible. He some computer are set to certain air flow. Any input from the intake Gods?
Thanks

Fujita IMO is a much cleaner look with equal if not slightly better HP gains...

I've done lots of back and forth with the Nismo...Stock and Fujita intakes. Stock box with a K&N gave me the best launch but just didn't pack the punch I wanted when traveling on the highway. (Which is what I do most of the time).
As far as I know the only way around this is the Technosquare reflash but even then I'm not sure. I believe Shawndon had the flash and opted to go back to the stock air intake anyway. Also NNMax has talked about a MAF upgrade that I need to investigate.
