Finally jumped back into Max ownership again yesterday, picked up a new to me 07 SE. It came equipped with XM Radio already factory installed, with a subscription still remaining, but the problem is that I can't seem to tune to a specific channel. I have a Bose 6 changer head unit, that only has a single power and volume **** in the middle. All other operations are by buttons. Whever I press the Seek, Scan, or Tune buttons it only goes to stations that previous owner has stored. It just scrolls back and forth between the same channels. Is there a trick to getting to a specific channel? When I press the Tune button, it gives me options like sports, news & entertainment, ect, but there is no way to select each one. Thanks in advance for any help.

On on the XM radio web set and get a station guide. Than pre set the stations that you want just like setting up reg radio stations. When you get to say sports press the button right under the tune button. that would start you off of the 1st sports channel. than keep pressing it.

Ramberg, Thanks for the reply but I do not have a button right underneath the tune button. I only have the following buttons that seem to do anything with the SAT radio.

1. Seek button with < or > arrows. When I press it it rolls through the preset channels.
2. Scan button. When I press it it scans through the preset channels.
3. Tune with < or > arrows. When I press this the categories pop up with "Seek or Scan" underneath it. Pressing the arrows left or right brings up the XM categories, but there seem to be no way to enter once I get there.
Is it possible that I have a limited "trial" version of XM?

I forgot the '07 has a different system which I don't know. The best thing to do is go see the dealer if you can't get help here.
At least the channel guide is correct.

If you are the new owner you have to call up xm and open an account with subscription giving them the radio ID code and then they will send the signal to unlock the radio and you would have all the channels. I see it often in work where someone trades a car in and only a few stations work on the xm. If you already subscribed and not getting all the channels then call xm back. Hope this helps

Thanks, thats what I was afraid of. I do not have a subscription. If I go satellite, I will want to go Sirius, as my wife already has it on her car, so another account would be cheaper. Can I get a Sirius subscription without adding additional hardware?

only way you can get a sirrus is to get the ad on portable receiver that plays through the tape player or something like that. I saw a thread not long ago where someone wanted to switch from xm to sirrus and someone said that all you had to do was switch the xm receiver box to a sirrus receiver box. Try the search feature and the thread should come up with the info. By the way any xm or sirrus you get you will have to pay the subscription and you would have to purchase the sirrus box from the dealer or from someone that had your car with a sirrus receiver box like a salvage yard or maybe ebay etc.

After pressing the tune button and go to the category that you want then press the seek button and the channels should change.
If that don't work than you probably have the trial version
