Well I ordered the nismo exhaust for the 2002-2006 Altima 2 weeks ago and I am just waiting for the shipper to deliver it next week. I paid $670 for the exhaust and $75 shipping so it wasnt to bad since my girlfriend gave me $300 toward it so my out of pocket was $445 WOW. I have a guy at a shop thats gonna extend it and install for $65. I'll post pictures when I get it done-probably tuesday or wednesday next week.

Well after waiting 3 weeks my nismo exhaust for the 2002-06 altima finally got here and it sounds awesome. I went through andysautosport.com and they match to lowest price I could which was $670.

Anyone try the GReddy exhaust system with the stock quad tips? I like the look of the quad tips look. Just bought the Maxima on Saturday. I'm open to feedback.

Same issue here! I'm also lookin for an exhaust. Budget is real low after a stereo system but seen a few on ebay <$200. From what I've read from the other 6thgen members, the ones on ebay are to par with the more $$$ ones.

Seen it on a couple of max's before. If it's done right than it will look sick.

I would've installed mine myself, except I needed the welded-on extension.
Anyone know if MagnaFlow is bolt on to an 04, or does it need an extention?

I just bought the generic knock off eBay catback. I got it two days ago, just waiting for some time to put it on. Looks solid so far though, I love the 4" tips.

I lovee the sound of my exaust. it sounds soo far from a ricer.. I got a raceingline Y-pipe then strait pipe all the way back to two highflow magnaflow mufflers with quad magnaflow tips. It sounds dope. Ill try and post vids soon.

The best exhaust is a custom exhaust.

It's as simple as picking the phone up and calling your local Nissan parts department.

I measured it today finally..its 2.25 diameters in our 04 Max. I am ordering offset-center type..do u think I should go for dual outlet only or single should be fine ?

It is personal taste. I personally like the dual outlet. I went with magnaflo. I personally think they are the best in the market. Life time warranty.

ok..thanks for your input. I saw the street series dual outlets from magnaflow..little costly for me at this time..so was thinking of universal ones 2.25/2/25 inlet/outlet and then later one I will add tips to make it dual outlet..
I heard good reviews about Magnaflow and their deeper sounds..so ordering them soon..

One thing to be aware of, I cut the factory pre-silencer off and it had a ton of drone. I ended up putting a magnaflow 22in pre-silencer on and it still had a lot of drone. Then I put another one on and now it is perfect.

Oh.. thanks for this information. I ordered Magnaflow from Amazone. Had gift coupons so I had to pay only few bucks. After I install them - I will let you know what happens.

Would you have had the drone if you left the original factory pre-silencer on?

I tried with it on but there was no sound difference than with the stock mufflers. For me the drone was bearable but others may not have an issue with it.

hey gents,

not sure if this has been answered previously or not, but I have not had the time to search the site as I'm stuck in back to back meetings all day.

i have been looking at the cat back exhaust that is available on ebay (see link below) and i'm just not sure if this set-up will spit codes up once installed or it will be a perfect fit. Just worried about emission tests and all which is coming up for me soon.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/04-08-NISSAN-MAXI...item41560c2702

I appreciate if someone can chime in. Thanks in advance!

Should not cause any codes. I am personally not a fan of the eBay exhaust. You get what you pay for in my opinion. I feel a custom exhaust is the way to go. It will cost you more but I am happy I spent the extra money to do custom.

what do you not like about the ebay exhaust ?

I am not 100% on it because I worry about the price point (like $300 for the whole thing shipped to my doorstep) - kinda giving me doubts dude.

Would love to go with a custom set-up it but it can reach a pricepoint that is going to keep me sleeping on the couch for at least 1 night.
