Specific question regarding rewiring the fogs to the parking lights
I have read ALL the possible imaginable different posts regarding re-wiring the fogs on this forum. BUT, I still have a few questions.
It was mentionned that the best solution would be to rewire the HID fogs relay to receive signal from the parking lights, so that when they are on, the fogs are on (therefore they stay on with the high beams).
There are 3 wires going into the parking lights. I cant remember the color. Probably a ground, a 12v on, and a 12v flasher? Which colour is the permanent 12v?
Another related question. When you turn the lights on, the bulb receives the 12v in the first filament. When you flash, it receives another 12v in the second filament, right???
Do both wires always come on when the light flashes? Because if I rewire the fogs to the parking lights, when I lock the doors and the parking lights flash, the HID fogs will flash too? (or not, because only the flasher circuit gets current when lights flash?) Would be dumb to put the car on 4 flashers and then have the HID fogs flash too.
Just wondering, if anyone knows, thanks.

if wired correctly the fogs won't flash with the park lights.
why don't you just power them only with the battery including a relay switch? they are on when you switch them on.
my switch has another wire that connects to the park lights so they have to be on for them to work, but they don't power them.

I don't want a separate switch because I would have to wire it inside the car and I don't really like the idea of adding a switch. Plus, I don't really want to manually switch them on/off. Having them wired to the parking lights gives them an auto on/off feature, just like the stock fogs. I basically want them on all the time when I drive, I like the quad projector look, but that's just me. The switch idea is a good idea though, if I want to turn them off, but they still keep the auto feature, and go off with the parking lights anyway.
Mine are already on a relay connected directly to the battery. It's just that the signal comes from the original foglight switch.
I've checked the parking lights regarding my previous post, and it seems that when the turn signal or 4 flashers flash, it's just the 2nd filament, so it has nothing to do with the parking light dim filament, so it would work fine just like you said.
Do you know which colour of wire has the current for the 12v parking lights? That way I could just cut it instead of removing the bulb and testing and everything.

I added a fuse jumper to my Pathfinder. It cost me $4.00 to have fogs with parking lights...
But, they're on whenever any lights are on.
Old pic but you get the idea.

What gauge of wire should I use for this? What's the gauge of the wire to the parking lights?
How did you do it? Crimp connectors, solder?
Thx
