Fuel filter?

Mods forgive me I didn't do a search to see if this was touched upon but I have just hit 90k and this lifetime fuel filter has me thinking. I like everyone want the cleanest fuel going into my engine. Does anyone have any stories or experience with this 05' fuel filter? Is it lifetime? is it a ***** to replace?

WINTERFAUST said somewhere that its not designed to be serviceable by the consumer and is just as redls1 says...inside the tank!

I am well aware of the location of the filter. I was wondering that approaching 100k and probably holding on to my car for at least 3 more years what my options are. I would love to know what kind of technology can provide something that can keep fuel clean for upwards of 150k and up. Any Nissan people here?
