Fuse blowing when HID is turned on

tryin to help my friend with her m35. [i know its a diff car, but the principle should be the same]

a couple of days ago, her pass d2s didnt work anymore so i ordered some bulbs to see if thatll solve the problem. put them in [i got a pair so the colors would match]. what i noticed was that the fuse kept poppin [ i went through 2 to make sure] when the lights were turned on. just for kicks, i raisied the amp on the fuse and still popped.

my question is what would possibly cause a fuse to pop when the headlights are engaged [just for the pass side]

im thinkin maybe a ground or ballast.

TIA!

"just for kicks, i raisied the amp on the fuse and still popped."

what kick, the kick of frying something? lol. fuses have a specific amp rating for a reason :P

Probably a short circuit somewhere. Her car is not under warranty anymore???

Could be alot of things.

the power wire for the circuit sounds like it touching somewhere, get a copy of the wiring diagram for the headlight circuit and start tracing the wires to see if the wire is grounding out some where

was there any condensation/water in the housing or ballast?

i figured as much about the grounding part. theres no condensation. her car is out of warranty. the odd thing was that it happened out of no where. if the oem ballast is f'd, im just going to get an aftermarket d2s kit with a relay harness and get the on/off signal from the driver side.
