New CF hood on silver!!!
The hood is not for weight reduction (see explaination from post #25 below) it is for looks and function. I guess it is 'in" now to hate on anything carbon fiber?
If it were on a BMW M5 everybody would be drooling over it, put it on a Max and people hate on it.

also wheigh savings compare to the stotck hood is non there in fact the CF one feels about 2 to 3 pounds heavier(don't bash we knew that was a possiblitie
), thats what we get for beeing pretty much the only car out there with an aluminum hood, so the only thing this hood has over the stock is heat venting and looks
, so if you want to be unique (and look kool while you are doing it, very important! ) and give you engine some heat relief this hood is for you

But it's a great CF hood nonetheless. Good job 6th gen for pulling thru this! Next stop... lighter CF hood with no vents
Fixed
I dont think people are hating on it. Maybe it's the color of max that makes it look weird. The whole front end is light color then... BAM! black CF, so to me it's a little awkward. Maybe people will change their mind after they see it on Deus' car

See is not that this hood is heavier than your average CF hood, in fact is lighter than my 240sx non vented hood from seibon, is just that our stock hoods are so darn light.
quick update on the hoods, I dont have any left from the initial batch, next batch will be here by the end of the month, that would be another 11 hoods; help support the 6th gen aftermarket and buy the hoods
my next project is a lip for the 6.5 genners. and black headlights with built in halos
, if everything goes as planed.

OK, here's what I am thinking if I do go with paint. CF vents with a fade that runs to the back. I'll try to shop it on my car sometime soon...

by the way, I have gotten more compliments on this hood than any other mod I have done to this car, I guess it does kind of stand out. My mom noticed it, my 2 yr old son, random people have come up and commented even the janitor at my work!!! It's definitely going to stay all CF for awhile though...maybe!!!

Beautiful J...
I have a question. What would be my options to close up the vents from the inside out so the that it is guranteed that the water won't go into the engine compartment? welding/glueing....?
Looks gorgeous... ah, but let us know about the rain in a few months... I think it's too soon to really tell if there'd be any long-term issues... Thanks for the pics!
