Hello Guys..
like all maxima owners I had the issue which I tried to fix as per the two TSBs. I replaced the brackets and also welded the loose parts. The vibration got reduced to almost 70%. But still I get it when I am below 40 mph speed with the rpm between 1.5 to 2.5 K...its little vibration in the pedal along with vmmmmmmm noise..its for sure coming from exhaust ,..but i checked again and found no other loose parts...Only i saw the rubber holders which protects the pipe to touch the car chasis are little loose but those are i think supposed to be..i tried to shake the pipe but it dint move so much..only very little movement..

any ideas what other things to check in the exhaust ?

I am kind of new to the forums. I need help. I have a couple of issues. One is vibration at idle my passenger seat shakes and if there is anything in the cup holder behind the shifter shakes. The other problem I have is my tires keep getting cupped on the inside. I have gotten an alignment a couple of times and it doesn’t help. I do hear the noise in my car. I am planning on changing the strut mount and struts with kybs. Could the strut mount moving around cause the vibration and cupping on the tires.

Vibration at idle should not be by Tires..Clean you MAF sensor and Throttle Body..if required change your airfilter. That should be your first step towards this. If your car got high mileages then you might need to look your PCV and EGR. But first try with the first one - cheap and easy. Btw, while at idle whats your rpm speed ?
For the second issue - Tire Pressure / Wheel balance and Alignement is the first option that i wud try. You also need to describe the noises like is it from suspension or axle or wheel bearing..if you are not so sure..just get it inspected...

There are better members in this great forum who can correct me and guide you in a more better way-- so watch out for them to reply

Grinding Noise

Hi My 2004 nissan maxima is doing the same thing ..... it's making a rattling noise everytime I accelerate, & worse going up hills & coming our of corners. It doesn't do it when I'm going faster I think because you don't hit the gas that much once you have gained speed. I think it's a loose exhaust clamp. I heard this noise once before when I picked my car up AFTER an oil change. No noise before the oil change, then it began after I picked my car up. I found out from a friend that the exhaust system runs all the way up to the front of the car & is possible to knock a clamp loose during work. The clamp was replaced ($50) & no more noise. I had tires put on a few weeks ago & now the noise has begun again. I suspect the same thing has happened.

I figured out where the sound was coming from

My engine block. Checked my oil and there was 0 oil in the engine smh.
After i put oil in the engine the sound completely went away.
Check your oil first!!!

The grinding sound for the last 6 years has been a result of a heat shield under the engine area that cracks off but still held in place, every time you rev the engine the 2 pieces make a grinding noise. Check that first!

May be bad wheel bearing. You definitely can get grinding noises, and sometimes clunking noises...

Check the Heat Shield first, they have a known history for cracking, when you accelerate the grinding noise comes from the vibration of the 2 pieces rubbing together!
