We all know the "real" reason for a Carbon Fiber hood. And obviously the CF hood for the 6th gen Maxima is not for weight reduction since the stock hood is aluminum anyways...

Although slightly (or not) a snide comment, you make a good point!!

What if you painted just the ports on the hood? Thats an option. Nice ride by the way...

The new wheels looks hott, I love me some black rims. And I rather keep the hood all CF. Getting it painted defeats the purpose of getting a CF hood.

CF>Painted CF

You dont get to see a Max with a CF hood everyday, unlike a JDM Civic.

That's why I am going to just add a touch of silver. And (as has been brought up before) the true reason for CF is weight but definitely in our case it is a look thing!!

no...well it's not supposed to be...you see cf is great and was 1st used because it's lightweight and durable to an extent. all the honda guys jizzzed all over them because it's the same stuff on supercars and they were able to get a hood/trunk for their cars made from the same stuff! whoopdie do my na 4 banger econo compact has parts from a supercar on it! hippeeee!!!!...anywho now other people are copying the honda guys(like me and my cf hood). no one should try and fool themselves and think they aren't copying a 'group' of people(ricers) who are generally looked down upon in many car clubs/circles by putting a cf hood on their car. there is nothing classy about cf. does it stand out and say i'm different? yes. anyone who knows about cars on the other hand it means what i just explained.

Again i'm not coming down on CF, i have it on my car and like the look, just explaining it for you because it's different then spoilers and skirts and bodykits in that it's meant to save weight. If your not doing it for weight savings purposes and just for the 'look' generally it's cheaper to just have cf laid on your stock hood. but if you want none functional vents(mine functions heat extractor, the 6th gen fins are too far back) on your hood then you have to go with a premade hood.

in the 6th gen's application a cf hood is closer to bodykits and skirts and what not but it's not meant to be. just wanted to point that out.

J when are you blacking out/cf wrapping your hood and trunk?

Simply loving the front end. I'm never a fan of blacked out silver cars, but man you did it perfectly.
